Campanas

Campanas (3/5)

  1. The 2 white wines I enjoy with cigars are Champagne and a Mosel with lighter bodied cigars. I don’t drink red wine with cigars, I was raised better than that👻 If I had to choose a red wine I would want something very fruity and very low in tannins, Beaujolais and Zinfandel would be my choices. I’ll have my Chablis with oysters if you please.
  2. Difficult to get, but there’s a reason why🤗 Sir Winston would be my choice. For me you have the best chance of getting a box of really great cigars with them. Of course you have to like vanilla cream cookies 👻You’ll still have money left over for some Cohiba, but you should really get some age on them to get your money's worth. Sir Winston’s age beautifully, but they also come out of the box swinging.
  3. You got a love Pierre Salinger’s cigar cutter 🦷 he’s probably got a perfect V cut.
  4. Is the cigar plugged or is it just not drawing they way you want? If there’s a blockage from god only knows what, or a roll knot it’s plugged. But trying to get a consistent draw from an inconsistent product will drive you crazier than you already are👻We all have a preference for how we like our cigars to draw. I like a very snug draw, others like their cigars to smoke themselves, and everything in between. Every cigar has a unique draw depending on its fill and roll, and then theirs your draw. In every box there are going to be cigars you really have to pull on, cigars you don’t have to think about, and cigars that I think are so underfilled they should never have left the factory. Playing with your humidity is not going to change that. Cuban cigar construction this century has driven me to weighing my cigars so I know before lighting if I’m smoking a light, middle or heavyweight. We’re always having to adjust our draw depending on the fill and size of cigar we’re smoking these days.
  5. At least you got the Republican choice of shirt color correct.
  6. No one really knows when a box of cigars will hit its/your sweet spot. Assessing the quality of the tobacco your cigars are rolled with is a good beginning. Some boxes of cigars always smoke great, some never do. I think the % of long age worthy tobacco coming out of Cuba this century is a fraction of what it used to be. What I look for in a Monte to lay down is dark bittersweet chocolate, espresso, roasted nuts, nought and caramel.....aka the best Snickers Bar you’ve ever had. Lately with the exception of the #1’s I’m seeing the earthy cocoa powder flavor profile Monte’s, which I certainly enjoy. But I don’t see a big upside to aging. I’m too old to wait 7+ years to maybe see a 2 point climb in flavor. When I see a box that’s dripping with oil, has wrappers with a glowing iridescent huge, I know I’ve got something to lay down. I hope you got one of those boxes!
  7. I know this may be a bit of a stretch for you, but the best thing you can do for your orchid is after it blooms get some orchid potting mix and repot it into a bigger pot.
  8. Sometimes you don’t even need your nose to protect your mouth, just knowing what the hell it is makes you smart enough never to put it in your mouth🤮
  9. Be honest, the only thing they could add to Cuban cigars to make them better is cocaine. I’ll be blunt, no one in their right mind is going to put weed in the finance tobacco on the planet.
  10. Spain is a civilized country, you’ll see an ashtray on every table outside 🌈 Many hotels have rooftop bars if you want a elevated view with your smoke. Because Spain has a very low tax on tobacco, prices are better than most countries. Bring plenty of cigars, you don’t want to miss a nice breakfast 👻
  11. Somebody should suck the blood out that vampire....go get him girl 🧟‍♀️
  12. I’m sure San Sebastián will be at or close to the top of your interweb search. Beautiful beach and city, incredible food, wonderful people. Bring plenty of cigars, the smoking lamp is always lit.
