  1. Is this a good time to ask which sauce goes best with beer battered fries? Or wedges, chips etc
  2. Summed up my thoughts exactly Fuzz. That is the modern Australian use of simple condiments to a tee. Frenchs' American mustard for hotdogs etc is a step above IMO Only one alteration for me, the simple chicken schnitzel (or even crumbed fish) is normally served with lemon wedges as a stand alone condiment. Expert tip; add a little soy on top of the lemon to either. Mind will be blown.
  3. Jingle bells and the National anthem on recorders played by two six year olds last night two doors up. For the length of a Boli Corona extra and beyond. Was just what I needed to de-stress. The constant off notes gave it a jazz vibe, while the dedicated repetition of the two tunes gave a recording studio mood. -1000 out of 10.
  4. Buy a large amount of land in South west qld. Buy a few super/hypercars, a long range jet and helicopter. Let mrs Smooth buy all the furniture, clothing, shoes etc to avoid complaints. Have the best build: Smooth mansion, a 2km long runway, race circuit, helipad and hangar. Sculpt a golf course on my own ptoperty with my spare time and some heavy machinery for optimal use of spare time. Have a team finish it off. Hire a dozen CPP professionals, two pilots, a chef, two assistants, two housekeepers, two greenkeepers and a mechanic. Relax and invest enough to keep it all going for at least 50 years. Only a huge US powerball jackpot could come close to covering that. Sorry Pres I added one zero! Wake up from dream.
  5. It's my birthday today so I'm going to have a game. Just to let you all know, I will be playing in my birthday suit. Picture that if you get into a had with me.
  6. Yes nicotine is a stimulant BUT that said a cigar be it good or bad, usually calms me. Depending on the cigar, wether it be 30 mins or two hours I am alone, just me , feel the breeze outside, think about nothing exciting etc. The only times it won't have such a calming effect is when under huge stress or anxiety related to work or other issues in life. Maybe the question could be truly answered by having a cigar with a pad and pen with you and writing down whatever comes to mind should you feel the need.
  7. Just had a quick look through one of my humidors and I'm no scientist but here is my theory. A vast amount learnt from an old friend years ago. Mould in any form has to be natural evolution as cigar leaf is rolled damp after drying somewhat, touched by many people etc and are also organic plant matter. Just like a piece of cabbage, for lack of a better term. Throw a semi dried and after air hanging/drying (to remove moisture ala and eg tobacco barns) cabbage leaf rolled into a cigar shape into a stand alone humi for 10 days at say even 50rh max 60f temp and see what happens. Now that is a rash example of course. Yet why mould on cigars? Tobacco is simply a plant leaf after all. So I guess what I am saying is cigars will be naturally open to picking up foreign antibodies through being stored in thriving thermal environments (humidors) for bacteria and mostly touched by bare hand. I have a test box from over 12 years ago. The cigars were never touched by my hands (apart from one in another humi) and covered under cedar layers are blemish free. I never rotate in the humi. My sharing humi, as mentioned above has what would have been called plume over most of the cigars other than the ones at the very bottom which are devoid of anything. A guy I used to know was and is a highly successful archive document expert and said when offering him an aged cigar 'you use bare hands on your cigars? Your body is placing bacteria, acids and oils all over that specimen!'. It will be mould ridden or blemish in under five years if not sooner!' I ran with his theory of sterility after he questioned why most of my cigars in the top layers of this humi had mould at the cap and then foot area in majority of ssmples. Never thought of it that way. Blew my mind.
  8. Singapore from 23rd to the 30th. can't wait ! My favourite city in the world
  9. Interesting points guys thanks! Will have to buy a box off Prez and run a longer term experiment with pics. To me the Cigars were bang on and were smoked over a five month (nearly six) period. They looked and smoked just as they did when opened in December. I had no problems with the temp as I think 24c average is fine however I was concerned about humidity. Liking my cigars stored at 60% rh may have played a part. And the box was a 2013 I think. Would I empty all my humidors and just buy a few new bookcases to leave them on? No. Absolutely not. It was actually the gifters idea to try this and he smoked a third of the box over the time. Was a lot of fun.
  10. I had a box of Cohiba siglo III gifted to me last December. With no room in any humidors I decided to try an experiment with the box. Living on the Gold Coast here in aus humidity is always quite high and temperature consistantly quite high. I have a split system aircon throughout the house which is set to keep the home automatically to 25*C and is always on dry mode which removes humidity. I have left the box open since December in the home office on a shaded bookcase with a digital hygrometer next to it. Min temp for 5 months 23C. Max temp 26C. Daily avg 24C. Min humidity 54%. Max humidity 68%. Daily avg 62%. Finished the last teo last evening and it was perfect! Does the sub tropical weather with the use of the dry and 25 setting air conditioning make for the ideal walk in home humidor? I am stunned.
  11. Also sorry to hear about your friends passing. I have regular colon and endoscopy. Has staved off cancerous pollups numerous times. There is only so much a scope can prevent and catch. To call it a violation is very ignorant.
