  1. Ah!.........I should have course mentioned the Chinchalero Torpeditos.Cheap and cheerful(and not cuban)but does the job when the fish are coming thick and fast.
  2. The mackeral are well and truly in.A beautiful evening float fishing off my favourite pier!.Took a dozen for family dinner,Missed another dozen bites.I always pack up when i have caught what we need when they are biting like this.May go again during the week as the weather is so settled.
  3. My favourite drink with a cigar is a glass of wine.I have been drinking whites for a long time now and its mostly Chardonnay.Seems to go well bearing in mind that i am a noob. .
  4. Not listed but Sirloin is my favourite.Good flavour reasonable price and tender.I would go for thick cut. That would be an inch deep or more in the UK. It might have been T bone but as i have not had one for over twenty years i passed. .
  5. Nice catch of mackerel!.Still waiting for them further along the coast. They were "in" and just as soon "out" again.I couldnt get down at the right time. One of my favourite spots is off the Jurassic pier at West Bay about 30 mins from me.I use a carp rod with a sliding float, great fun. Had a few hours surface fishing for carp yesterday.I missed mine though my wife caught a nice common of 9lbs.Hope to have a couple of sea trout trips this month. Had a Punch Coronation while i was there, didnt seem to bad considering it came from a local supermarket. It was tubed so that probably helped.I usually find them a bit strong.
  6. Yes i write letters and send them to fishing friends.Usually the ones that i dont see very often. There is always a reply, even if we see each other in between .A letter arrives in due course and is a delight to have dropping through the letterbox.
  7. Still finding my way with Cubans.Latest singles to arrive. Hoyo dM Epicure Especial. ,, ,, Epicure No2. Punch Coronations. Romeo yJ Petit Churchill. El Rey d M Choix Supreme. Cohiba SigloIV. Looking forward to trying some after a rest in the Humi.

    What's for dinner?

Its a Bank Holiday weekend in the UK.Today is BH Monday and guess what....Its pouring with rain all day.Family were over so i cooked a roast chicken. We had cabbage, carrots, broccoli parsnip and sweede,Roast potatoes sage and onion stuffing and gravy. We all enjoyed a sit down dinner about 6pm.The rain wasnt a bother anymore!.
  10. Without doubt Confessions of a Carp Fisher by BB.It a little book that i keep going back to it tells of the authors obsession with fishing and was written in the mid 1940s.I am lucky to have a copy of the tiny first edition in its dust wrapper.
  11. Hello and welcome from sunny?!...Actually its raining(must be a bank holiday)Somerset.

  13. Thanks bb.I have a fair collection of pipes,as usually happens but the one i have smoked most recently is a corn cob.Smooth right from the start without any burning in.It was under £10 delivered.
