  1. For those that used to frequent the ICC forums, MRN used to post there and there were some legendary stories he wrote about. One thread even covered the smoking of one of those ultra rare Visible Inmensos he did with Fatcigar.
  2. Lol - that was one of my comments back to him as well.
  3. One of my friends out there sampled this box of cigars. He's a longtime Cuban cigar smoker His comments were that it was a decent smoke and was worthy of adding to his rotation.
  4. Congrats! I love the armrest bevel. You should take a visit to the AcousticGuitarForum pages, I'm on there a lot. Lots of discussion on guitars, and Taylors too - as it originally started off as a Taylor guitar site.
  5. I'm a definite proponent of vacuum sealing boxes to prolong and enhance their "flavor". I've unsealed boxes after 10 years in that have that strong pungent heavenly smell, and tasted like they were a freshie. It can't make gold out of a dog turd, of course, so you need to start off with a decent starting point. I typically will let a new box age/stabilize a few months in my Aristocrat humidor first, before sealing it up. I have had some cigars go past their timeframe, although I don't think it's a hard date, it all just depends.
  6. Glad I use only one source for over the past 15 years, and that's our hosts here at FOH. Also, for me, whenever I get new boxes delivered, they go straight to my humidor for a few months, then I vacuum seal them and forget about them for many years. I'll usually open them up, take a quick look at them, take a deep whiff, then off to a long sleep they go. If there was a problem with how they taste, I wouldn't realize it until a long time down the road.
  7. I have been vacuum sealing for a long time, maybe 15 years or so. My process follows closely what Monterey described - vacuum all the air out, right up till the box will would start to compress if I don't hit the seal button. No Boveda packs needed in the sealed package. I've tested some boxes after 5-10 years being sealed, and that funky smell that hits your nose is just pugent-ly intoxicating. hard to describe it. the hard part is that the large 50 count cabs, and wide format boxes won't fit in the normal sized bags. I've had to order the special bags that allow it to expand, which works fine. They cost more than the normal bags.
  8. I have a very large Aristocrat humidor at home, but I've recently gone dual state residence, and as such I'll be in Hawaii for most of the year going forward. I just noticed that this item is on Costco's website. This might be a good short term solution for some. Costco cigar humidor
  9. We get together once a month or so, and wanted to keep it going. first time trying a smoke session via Zoom video conferencing.
  10. Yup. https://therowbarbytamuras.com/
  11. I have boxes that have been vacuum sealed for 10+ years. I open one every year or so to test, then reseal. the aromas that hit me when opening the bag are overwhelming and delightful. There's also a long thread on this topic here.
