For me the stand-out comment in this entire thread is the idea that nailing a new seed takes 20 years or more. This would explain why we have been seeing a steady improvement in taste in the last 10 years or so (allowing for some ups and downs) and also suggests there is more improvement yet to come. Just my observations of course.

Why all the Spurs hatred. First off congratulations to Leicester. ..much as it pains me to say that as a Spurs fan. Second off shame on Chelsea who's cup final this year was a draw with Spurs ...you must be proud as defending champions. Thirdly Spurs are a proper club, great tradition, real fans, well run, no debt or crazy owners, play entertaining football, have worked hard to improve their position, have the best goal difference in the league, the tightest defence, developed youth not just bought big-ticket players, have a core of British players and are investing huge amounts of money redeveloping a very impoverished area of London. Seriously all power to Leicester for their amazing achivement but if you just want to bash Spurs you need to check yourself, deal with your jelousy / predudice /ignorance / hatred /whatever ...light up a nice stick and be big enough to recognise what a great season we have had ...for all the right reasons!

Wasn't my experience. During an AB review we did they were very similar.We did see bad examples of both though.

Just an observation of the relitave ease of faking this kind of cigar (in 5vers).

So the bands were on ebay and now the cigars are being auctioned. 2+2=? Nb - there were several hundred Cuban Dunhill bands on Ebay last month. To be fair they may be real, as has been stated there were thousands of pre revolutionary marcas but I would never buy that kind of cigar without very, very strong provenance. Come to think of it unboxed 5ers of pre-r never seen cigars may be the easiest htf to counterfeit. There are sites selling old cuban bands as collectors items.

Slight off topic but my understanding of the Davidoff fire story is far simpler and potentially plausible (although I have no hard evidence). The reason to destroy boxes was a legal challenge to their use of French Chateau names without permission that were/are protected by international law. Anyone else ever hear this? Back on topic the HSA is about as transparent as mud. The best we can hope is a new release smokes well, that's about it. We have seen planned releases that smoke like crap so information does not make a good cigar. ....it's all in the smoke; no more, no less.
