  1. Had a shocker the other day... Lit a 2008 Vegas Robaina Classico that Id been looking forward to. Harsh, ashy and tough to draw. Pitched it and lit a 2-dot Cohiba Lancero, unknown age that I had found in an old tobacconists in London. Tasted of musty old cellars and newspaper. Pitched that too. Lit a fresh Magnum 46. Beautiful!
  2. Aaaaaagh! All the clues told me it was a Connie 1 - except the flavour. There was a distinct plummy note in it for me that I've never tasted in an uppman - so I went for Vegas Robaina Famoso. Oh well. Congrats to all who got it!
  3. Anyone know what a Trinidad 'Topes' will be? A quick googling hasn't told me much....
  4. Really screwing with me this one. Also can't tell if I'd call mine Hermoso#4 or Robusto. Comparison with the collection not shining much light on the situation. Fantastic cigar though. Pretty rich and strong but smooth, fruity, honeyed. Quite some vanilla. Black coffee. Really good and would be delighted to have more. No idea on the guess : )
  5. Submitted my guess a few days ago and thought Id update. While I enjoyed the process of blind tasting a cigar, I can't say it was to my taste. Without doing a full review I found it earthy, woody and with relatively subdued barnyard aromas. Nice creamy texture toward the start and some nutmeg notes but quickly got harsh and a bit muddy for me. Definitely thought it was cigar A but decided it couldnt possibly be that so went for cigar B instead. Immediately wanted to change my mind when a piece of info on the site caused me to think it could be cigar A after all! Very possibly neither though! Cant wait to see the results.
  6. Gutted this will be the third London herf in a row I cant make. Looking forward to meeting everyone someday. Happy smoking for Thursday!
  7. 2001 Diplomaticos No.1 - beautiful except for the bloody great hole I hadnt spotted beneath the band. Had to keep a finger over it while smoking. Draw was never right. Pitched it half way through. Pre-2003 'two dot' Cohiba Lancero. Unknown age. Found this in a dark corner of a humidor of an obscure tobacconist in London and was super excited. Bought the three remaining. Average to poor. Mild and a bit dusty. Not much flavour. An infuriating day of smoking....
  8. Gloria Cubana No.2s Robaina Don Alejandros Cohiba Coronas Especial RA 898 German RE Not that these are necessarily my favourite cigars ever mind. Just what Im looking for next!
  9. Siglo V - never seems to get much love which surprises me considering it is long, skinny(ish) and Cohiba. All mine have been fantastic. Perhaps Ive just been lucky but its one of my all time favourites.
  10. 1 x Partagas Seleccion Privada LE2014 1 x Por Larranaga Picadore 3 x Ramon Allones 898 So excited to find the 898s! If I hadnt already bottomed out on the card for xmas Id have bought the remainder of the box.
  11. Liga Privada UF-13. Reminding me loud and clear why I've stopped buying NCs. Less than an inch in and not sure I can suffer the rest...
  12. Very much hope to make it down to this one gents. Look forward to meeting you there!
  13. This is the one I use 90% of the time and for me, its perfect. Can fit 4 cigars easy. Any length, any size, ash drops through the holes and it looks like it should have sunk with the Titanic!
  14. I'd be all in for this except I've just opened a semi permanent restaurant running Thurs-Sunday every week in East London. Would be a pleasure to meet you all soon though gents. Count me in for the next one! Happy smoking, Tom
  15. Love it. Thanks for the review guys. Ive been looking forward to this one for weeks!
