  1. Agreed that I would love to see one of these cut open. My buddy brought back some Cohiba fakes from Mexico that when we cut open were filled with trimmings and had a ton of hair in them. Gross.
  2. What a lovely night in Texas to smoke a cigar. Obviously, I've got my Shiner (at least a version of it) and Topo Chico ready to go. After a quick cut and cold draw, there are hints of grass, toasted tobacco and leather. Upon lighting up, the first couple of puffs immediately pull some fruity flavors, most notably citrus, almost like a lemon. Draw and burn are just perfect through the 1st third. The fruity flavors are gone after the first couple of puffs and by the end of the 1st third I'm mostly getting a grass/hay/leather mixture. It's actually really tasty. The 2nd third started off with a little uneven burn, but I'm sure that's my fault cause it's a little windy out here. The flavors have slowed down a tad and I'm getting toasted tobacco and wood notes. Still a great flavor, but I was hoping that some of the citrus from lighting up would reappear... maybe even some cream? Maybe I spoke too soon. By the final 3rd I'm getting the fruity tones again and just a touch of cream with the leather. Really turned into a lovely smoke. I would for sure get a box of these to put some age on and see where they go. I'm confident that I've never smoked one of these before... but then again... I'm just getting into the hobby. I'd give this a 90/91. -WillEd11
  3. I've been in charge of getting boxes for people's weddings over the last year or so. Here is what I've taken... and what was enjoyed the most... what caused issues... and what I've learned: Purchases: HdM Epicure Especial, Siglo IV, Upmann Connie #1, Monte #2, Monte #4, Series D4, HdM Ep #2 1. Smoke the cigars on Friday before/during/after the rehearsal dinner. Finding time to smoke a cigar during the wedding has proven to be difficult. Between the groom always being busy, eating, dancing... etc... it was hard to find a time that someone could spend an hour enjoying a smoke. We pissed off more than one bride heading out to smoke after the wedding dinner was served and eaten. We basically delayed the dance floor being full of people for about an hour and would cause a pissed off bride to come yell at the wedding party. 2. While everyone is into Cubans because they are Cubans... not everyone loves cigars or wants to smoke an entire cigar. I've found that even a robosto can be too large for most non-enthusiasts. Because of this, I've found that the Petite Corona is the perfect size. Slow smokers can get up to an hour... quick smokers can take >30 minutes. Just seems like the perfect fit. Over the course of 6 weddings... the Montecristo #4 was the most popular. It was also the cheapest cigar that I passed out at any wedding. A real home run. I will continue to bring these out as they seem to be perfect for everyone involved. Hope that you find what you're looking for... but the advice above is what we've learned during the 2015/2016 season. Have a great wedding and congrats! -WillEd11
  4. What a Sunday. 66 degrees (18 C) in Dallas today at the lake. Reba was loving the CORO smoke with me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I don't know squat... but I was upset that I didn't do this last year. Seems like a lot of fun. I'm in!
  6. Came in this post to say the same. For my money there is no better bourbon than Blanton's. At $65ish a bottle it's not "cheap".... but it's my go to when I'm having a glass with a cigar. When I have friends over it's buffalo trace all the way. Glad we share a similar opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'm pretty sure my dog is concerned I've chosen a young CORO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Anyone that's a member of Tom Petty's fan club not using their password for the presale? I don't really want to join just for the password. Let me know if you might be able to assist. I'm trying to get a couple of tickets for the Dallas show before they go onsale Friday (12/16). Thanks!
  9. Behike 56 kinda Saturday. Box code 2014 I believe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. If you're into southern rock (Allman's) or soul (Tedeschi Trucks Band)... I highly suggest giving the Marcus King Band a shot. They just released their second album and Warren Haynes produced it. It's an amazing effort and I can't wait to see them for the 1st time in a month in Dallas. Enjoy.
  11. CoRo and a Blantons at my buddies house. First one! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
