Campanas

Campanas (3/5)

  1. I'm in the whisky clan. Certainly a function of the choice and ABV%. Cask strength will over power anything. Not a fan of coffee. However on colder days I have had tea with a stick which was quite enjoyable
  2. Some valid points https://www.cnbc.com/2024/04/05/poor-resale-values-of-evs-are-a-problem-for-the-industry-warn-experts.html
  3. Definitely hit or miss when it came to CC. Albeit a limited number of lanceros remain in production. In terms of NCs : Oliva V Lancero has been faultless - having smoked through a number of boxes.
  4. Great review. Personal preferences aside. You might want to try the Undercrown Maduro Corona Viva. One of my favourites - slightly different blend (less pepper/spice in the profile for me) The Corona Viva vitola is 5 5/8x46 = so similar to the lonsdale UC10.
  5. Totally agree with all components. Never had a bad one over the last 20+ years. Both in terms of construction and flavour evolution. Great review.. never had the fruit/berry notes - every palate is personal!😎
  6. I have given up on St.Dupont.... Over the years... Ligne that no longer has refills.. needs to be converted apparently to the new refills. Over 40 years old. Extreme that has died (RIP) three times. Two repairs/replacement were done. Dupont finally admitted that they do not repair but will offer a "new" one at a reduced price. Igniter is dead. Maxi Jet - which was my favourite (was still made in France at the time) finally dies this year (probably close to 20 yrs old). In retrospect simple inexpensive torch lighters seem to be more reliable. Also the butane insert for the Zippo too. Rather spend $$$ on cigars...
  7. In no specific order: Drew Estate Liga Undercrown Maduro and/or Shade Corona Viva Oliva V Lancero Illusione Epernay La Grande Foundation Charter Oak Connecticut Shade Lonsdale Used to really enjoy the Davidoff Nicaragua Diadema
  8. It is a lifestyle choice...not a moment in time. As you get older....you realize that you made choices in the past (maybe not the best ones....in some cases). However you can influence the future. Most chaps, it is a function of defining moments that cause the change. In terms of the quality of nutrients is one answer. The amount of exercise. However sleep and recovery are greatly overlooked as determining the outcome. When we are young and stupid with think we are invincible. With age, we would hope there would be some wisdom and moderation. However unfortunately, as we age - we tend to be less mobile - ironically exercise improves and extends mobility (Both physical and mental). Being committed to something you enjoy is part of the answer: whether it is walking outside or inside on a treadmill - the answer is mobility and not one size fits all...
  9. I had to chuckle the other day. There was a power grid alert last week - associated with the extreme cold locally. Specific instructions were not to charge EVs... This compounded by insurance policies that now have provisions that EVs should not be charged in garages (given potential of fire hazard). Won't even talk about diminished range in cold/extreme weather... Still a ways off without a solution.
  10. One of my recent discoveries in the NC world. Charter Oak Connecticut Shade - Lonsdale Lonsdale: 6 1/4x46 Perfect construction. Mild draw. Even burn, light grey ash. Connecticut shade- by definition is a lighter wrapper - almost golden color. Not overly complex. Smooth flavours: creamy to start, with a hint of cedar and chocolate. Flavour picks up past the first half, with some almond and nutmeg. A bit of cinnamon on the retrohale. Ashes tipping at about an inch and half. Consistent smoke - lasted about 90 mins. Score: 91 In terms of the ashtray - I have had it for many years. Prometheus is the brand - made of heavy glass. Big enough to accommodate a double corona. Has proven to be pretty much indestructible.
  11. Warming up a bit this morning Yesterday -34°C with windchill -44°C. Was chatting with a chap a couple of hours North of us= -50°C. All relative at these extreme temps.
