  1. I also had a great HDM epicure #2. I picked them up at the airport in Camaguay Cuba on my return flight. Dated Oct 15. The one I thought was superb had dense velvety smoke, with sweetness and caramel notes, mild sweet spice and a little bit of pepper on the retrohale. The only flavour I didn't get was coffee, which I haven't yet experienced on an epicure 2. That said the constancy of flavor on this box has been all over the place. Most are good, some are exceptional, some are average, and a couple were sub par. All from the same box. I would have liked more consistency on the better end of the flavor spectrum. The construction on all of them seemed good. I would like to see some more recent video reviews of the epicure line as your previous ones are from approx 8 years ago.Sent from my Lenovo K50-t5 using Tapatalk
  2. Ontario recently raised it's tobacco tax here along with alcohol. And now the feds are talking plain packaging. Even though the product is not allowed to be displayed in store. I like to go into my local BM store, but I am being priced by the government into lower quality sticks. I am considering going to the local native reservation to get product through the black and grey markets like many already do. I also plan to take more short trips to Cuba to stock up. Part of the scam is the more they curb legitimate consumption. The more they need to increase taxes to maintain their base income. Same reason our electricity rates go up when consumption is being reduced. Sent from my Lenovo K50-t5 using Tapatalk
  3. I made friends with a fellow Canadian Manzanillo Cuba. He tried to leave with 8 boxes, roughly 200 cigars. He got stopped in Cuba at the airport. He was fined and his cigars ceased, except for his 50 allowed and an extra box that was exempted as it was a gift and also exempt. So divide you loot as many ways as you can. Of course these were all after market cigars, no receipts. An expensive lesson, so don't get carried away. Sent from my Lenovo K50-t5 using Tapatalk
  4. Any extra motivation to start is a good thing. My fat clothes are getting tight. So I am in. Only cigars for desert and all liquor neet or on the rocks. I'll miss those sugary coffee drinks. Sent from my Lenovo K50-t5 using Tapatalk
  5. . Sunset cruise from Manzanillo Cuba May 2015 . Excellent scenery not a great cigar selection. I got to see a different side of Cuba. I also have a nice picture of a herd of Cuban goats. If that's your thing? Sent from my Lenovo K50-t5 using Tapatalk

  7. A friend of mine has stated on several occasions. " I can always tell when I've had a good cigar..... Afterwards I always have the best bowel movements. ". Anyone skip the metamucil or exlax in favour of a nice robusto? Does any cigar in particular get you moving? Or is my buddy full of sh#t ?
  8. Hard to guess with the US ellectoral process in play. But my guess is 15081 . I think until next years US budget and China's position on US debt are apparent long term stock investment is more of a gamble than usual. Corporate mass pursuit of the dividend has left buying power of customers depleted. Erosion of the middle class world wide has resulted in shrinking markets. Chinas manufacturing weekening is a symptom of this long term trend.
  9. Here are a few for consideration...... SMOKE N ...as quote by Jim Carrey BETR HALF ...just a reminder for those in doubt HALF CORKD ...for Rob FOH 2424 ...free advertising? GR8EST ...let them know whos the best
  10. I would rather cut my cigar in half before its lit. Relit cigar smoke I find putrid. Apologies to cigar purists like Ken. Half a Virgin smoke is better than going in for sloppy seconds. Regards, Doug
  11. If the US lifts the embargo other countries will have an easier time trading with Cuba. Poor management could lead Cuba to import tobacco and create blended cigars to create less expensive options more suited to american tastes. Now that would be weird. Would a cigar made in Cuba with 60% cuban filler still be a Cuban cigar? Would Rob sell such offerings? Would FOH have to become FOHH out of necessity. Friends of Habanos and Honduras? Stay tuned....
  12. Beer, beer, beer, beer,....amazing beer wonderful beer! Goes with everything. Hoegaarden (white beer) for sweeter tobacco blends, Rickards Red (red beer) for spicier cigars. A mohito goes great with any cigar especially in Cuba. A nice half and half Gin Martini w/ Bombay Safire and Martinni & Rossi extra dry Vermouth add Queen Olive scored with splash of lime. For non liquored drinks an iced coffee pairs well with a cigar.
  13. While I agree with your sentiment, it still is convenient to have your map, translation dictionary, camera all in one package. Oh and there's the phone. No accent? I had one of your videos playing on my phone. My mother said what are you listening to is that even english? I said, " mom how can you not make out an Aussie accent you like watching Corination Street from the BBC? " Well I can make most Brittish accents on the show but not all of them. Its called a hearing aid mom a H-e-a-r-i-n-g A-I-D! I get the standard response. I hear fine people just mumble too much.
  14. On my trips to Cuba I am sometimes hesitant to leave the resort and enter town, unless I make friends with someone who has a better command of Spanish than me. Other than basic pleasantries and being able to pick out a few words, my Spanish is muy limitado. Now that I have broke down and purchased a reasonably powerful Android smart phone I have been playing with Google Translate which has offline capabilities. I can have a two way voice translated conversation which is very interesting. Sometimes it comes up with confused interpretations but it is good enough for basic conversations if you speak clearly. It can even translate signs via the camera, also not perfect but a definite help. We are definitely getting closer to a universal translator like in star trek. I wonder how it would handle thick accents? I figure it would probably be ok with most aussie accents. But the guys at Aye-aye reviews might cause a google translate phone to explode. Regards, Doug
  15. I also hear they're releasing an extra large wide double corona...... They're calling it the Full Monty!!! That cheap pun sounded better in my head.
