Campanas (3/5)

  1. I remember everyone spent a good amount of time fixing my POS computer. Was fun though.
  2. Just a few days ago I set up shop in a beach park in Honolulu, away from the crowds and actually somewhat close to some pot smoker with the wind blowing away. Barely lit up and a cop on a bike stopped to tell me to put it out. I moved to another place a little further away but found it funny they didn’t move the pot guy away and yet the homeless can basically do whatever they want.
  3. Dogs are awesome. Bring them up front and leave them in the cockpit.
  4. “Pricing set to be double that of the shorts”. Another cigar that’ll sit.
  5. Airbus have extensive issues with the one engine type option that they’ve got on the 321NEO. Lots of those grounded too.
  6. Can’t get a break, well the brakes might be the best part of the thing. The engine anti ice thing I think is a tough one since you’re not gonna leave it on if you aren’t in icing conditions. FAA may have run out of f@#ks with old Boeing. We just got our first 787, a COVID era build that was put into storage, I believe there was another, but due to Boeing having to go back in and do rectification work they actually scrapped these era brand new planes for parts, since the work to bring them up to par was too great.
  7. Wow. $60 a cigar! Non Cuban prices edging up. Saw the half wheel top 5 was mostly ultra premiums over $20. Interesting times.
  8. I don’t know who I dislike more. SYD airport or Jetstar.
  9. Where would u say the best kebab in SYD would be? I’ve had Pyrmont kebabs more than a few times.
  10. Even more so since the Swan brewery closed! Great people in the Midwest, I’m actually trying to get my mrs to move back to Chicago or Milwaukee.
  11. A large fault for the lack of a clean sheet design narrow body from Boeing is because Southwest love the 737; have ordered hundreds and were reluctant for them to stray from the design. Money talks. Developing the 737 from the original 1960s design all the way through the Next Gen and now MAX they have not to been able to stray from the classic overhead panel on the 737; which would require a new type rating and expensive pilot training. When starting the engines on a brand new 737 one still manually turns the air conditioning packs off, couples the generators to the bus etc which is automatically controlled on Airbus (and has been for 20yrs or so). It’s a piecemeal design. So basically they’ve pushed the original 100 seat design a long way and possibly too far. They needed bigger engines for the 737 max so made the landing gear higher which led to interesting aerodynamic issues at the edges of the flight envelope. Stretching the airframe has led to the need for the requirement of an extra emergency exit in the higher seat config which not everyone uses, hence a fuselage plug to block the exit so they don’t have to carry an extra flight attendant. Good grief. Saying all that, Airbus has had some issues with the new A350 too so no airframe manufacturer is immune.
