tjohn7
Hello everyone, My name is Tom and I am a 26 year old from the US. I have never posted before and thought it would be a great time to introduce myself. I think I'll much prefer posting and reading on this forum, as Cigar Aficionado seems to be much less accessible and much less welcoming. I have grown very fond of CC in the recent months, as my first experience with one was a pre-2003 Monte A that a wealthy friend of mine gifted to me last winter. Since then I have become quite find of Partagas, H. Upmann and most other Cuban brands. I'm still new to the CC game, so I hope my questions don't come off as stupid. Merely trying to learn as much as I can so that my collection will be as well cared for as possible. I look forward to earning your respect and friendship over the course of my time here. Thanks in advance for all your guidance and assistance. -Tom

tjohn7
Thanks for the warm welcome you guys! What have you guys been smoking these days? I'm personally thinking about placing an order for some JL Seleccion No. 2 this upcoming weekend. I'm a big fan of churchills and double coronas but I find that the time/increased cost sometimes limits my supply of these. So I've been trying to build a steady supply of robustos and piramides. Any recommendations for robustos that have been smoking well this year? Thanks in advance for all your guidance! Tom
Pedro2486
Welcome to FOH Tom Great intro, I don't think you'll find a more welcoming and helpful forum anywhere. I'm a big robusto fan as well as smaller smokes. I think there's been a few great boxes of JL 2s recently as well as HdM epi 2s, both would be good choices Cheers
tjohn7
Thanks, Pedro! I hadn't paid much attention to the HdM epi 2s, though in retrospect I think I should have. I'll give your recommendation a shot and see how it turns out. My planned order for purchases was going to be: JL Seleccion No.2 RASS Boli Royal Corona H Upmann No.2 H Upmann RR PSD4 BBF CoRo Now I'm going to add the HdM Epi No.2 to that list. Let me know your thoughts on the list, in particular if you feel any are over/underated or deserve a bump up in the order. Thank you sir! Pedro2486
Looks like a great list bro. I would also suggest some recent Punch Punch, they've been great. As well as the punch 2013 LE, they're pricy but awesome. Keep in mind RASS may need a bit to come through. I would take a look at the recent LFTW for decent product or contact El Prez and have him guide your choices. The man can pick cigars like no other! Habana Mike
Greetings and welcome, Tom! Looks like you're on the right path though you may want to look at some petite/tres petite coronas as well. BPC, PLPC, Parti Shorts, RASCC to name a few.
jdo2110
You'll find most will say JL2 (chocolatey), Epi2 (creamy), and Connie1 (citrus/chocolate). Welcome bro. And nevermind if people bust your chops about asking questions. That's how you learn Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
tjohn7
All great suggestions! Much appreciated. Have you all had good luck with samplers from different vendors (not mentioning any)? Just wondering if I should go that route for trying out this wide array of sticks. I'm worried I may get bottom of the barrel stuff and that may taint my opinions of those sticks, instead of just buying a box of each and trying them that way. Thanks again!
