Guest scsi
In Northern Canada, Winters can be harsh And it's getting into the harsh season now So, when I get home today, the house is freezing Furnace guy comes over only after I agree that a call out is 200 minimum 4 hours later, here I sit with Space Heaters keeping me company Turns out that Furnace guy couldn't fix my problem He needs Tech Support and of course they don't do week-ends I guess, it's not so much Winter I hate And, I'm not bitter! Chris went the extra mile staying long after his day was done And free use of Space Heaters Right now...... I just hate! grrrrrr
Sophistic
I feel you, we had a mild winter in austria so far, still hate it. But i also hate summer. I want 15-20 degrees all year round..
PointFivePast
We had issues with our gas furnace all last winter so I know that feeling well. Ended up running space heaters through the winter on and off so we also had a gnarly electric bill to contend with. Fortunately we got it fixed this fall so this year should be better. Now if only I could find a way to make a heated and covered outdoor space to smoke in on the cheap...

Pilsner14
Hang in there. Just had mine fixed after it **** the bed. Luckily the temps in mid November were palatable. Took 5 days for service with no heat.

Fosgate
When I was a kid in the 70's, opening the door to the gas oven to heat the house and oil lamps were common every winter.
subport
It is not that cold here mate thanks to the Gulf. Could go 10 below zero, but mostly around 0. However when 20+ m/s wind hits the island from the north...well it could hurt, hehe.

PapaDisco
Ha ha . . . "$200" for an outcall . . . you should try San Francisco prices! I would suggest chain smoking several large format cigars simultaneously. And if that doesn't warm the place up, add scotch!

FLB03TT
Things could be worse- you could be living in Hawaii where it's in the low eighties, year round. Just imagine the monotony!

Murri
Its about 4 degrees outside here. I'm sitting in my rec room and hear the gas furnace cycling on and off every few minutes. Thinking oh crap, its 10 years old and somethings wrong so I have a quick look at the fault led. Says the flame not detected. Had the same problem with my daughters furnace a few years ago. Bought a new sensor for her and a spare for me at that time. Ten minutes later my sensor is in and furnace is up and running. Cost $20 When I worked maintenance in a factory the value of spare parts was hammered into us. Sometimes you just get lucky.
msm1771
I hate winter too so I moved to a place that's warm all the time. If I want to see snow or see seasons change I will go to NYC for a week. I would rather make less money and live somewhere I love than live in a dark, gloomy dark at 5pm, depressing area. Ribeye
It's been in the low 60's here in Southeastern Pennsylvania the past 3 days. It sure beats the frigid temperatures in January and February. I was able to sit out on my deck and enjoy a few great cigars without freezing. Spring can't come fast enough for me now. brschoppe
I feel your pain. I had the in-laws over last year and right before they came, my house started to get cold. Just like you the guy wanted ~$200 just to show up after hours and then didn't have the part to fix the problem. Luckily for me, they were able to turn of the limiter causing the problem till the new part showed up.
