  1. that can be a practice by resort staff to add a little gratuity on top, i experienced the same in Varadero at the resort before i went into Havana
  2. Introductory - H. Upmann Majestic, Hoyo de Monterrey Palmas Extra, Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto. All are a smaller size, all are pretty inoffensive tastewise, and none break the bank. Daily driver - Cuban custom rolls have been my daily drivers recently, I really enjoy double coronas and larger format cigars in the evening when I have 2 hours to myself. Impress your guest - I have two tricks up my sleeve here, the first is a regional edition from whereever they are from or their ancestors. I have a lovely box of SLR Pacificos I have been handing out to start a discussion around the qualities of aged cuban tobacco. Friday night smoke - Double corona for sure, normally a lusitania or a large format/posh regional cigar. The special occasion - Gran Reserva, for wedding anniversary is from one of my few boxes with my anniverary month/year, and sometimes I'll just mark the calender wherein the special occasion is smoking and reviewing the cigar in question, especially vintage smokes.
  3. Some treats over the past few years. 1999 Punch Churchills 2016 LGC MdO 4 - just cracked this last week. Punch ManTua
  4. Reg Prod - The Hoyo Epicure Deluxe has been a consistently poor cigar for me, tastes super strong and unbalanced LE - The Punch Regios EL 2017 - smoked a handful, ranging from bad to bland, size is silly, outshone by its older brother the 2013 release. I have heard that recently they are much better. Honorable mention would go to the Quai D'Orsay Senadores - they tasted roughhhh when I smoked them. Need lots of time or maybe just a dud but the vitola saves it from making the list.
  5. I've never had a good Partagas D4, and monte Cristo petit edmundos with their fire proof wrappers give me trouble. In terms of taste I find the Juan Lopez robusto to be one dimensional and unbalanced. Smoked a few and just couldn't do it. Lastly my last few Monte No. 2s have been dreadful, underfilled and taste very bitter.
  6. Very early on I got dinged in a bait and switch where the private seller had stunning looking RyJ Churchills and sent what would be seconds on this site or worse instead. Quite frustrating but I have learned and moved on.
  7. Diplomaticos No. 2 -> make it a Dalia. H. Upmann PC -> Laguito No. 2
  8. I have buzzsawed through a box of Bolivar Belicoso Finos and H. Upmann Magnum 46s - both were awesome.
  9. I really enjoyed the Escurio petit robusto - want to says it was 3 3/4 by 50?
  10. Partagas Lusitania Bolivar Belicoso Finos H. Upmann Magnum 46 Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 H. Upmann No. 2 Bolivar Petit Corona Sancho Panza Belicoso
