Campanas (3/5)

  1. I loved my Coro to max of $20 per stick to possibly $25 per for Laugito. The last cabs from 2013 and 14 are outstanding. I haven't bought a cab past the 2014's. I won't pay the coin now. They do need 5 years to get into their best imo. Most Cohiba.
  2. I've smoked stellar Edmundos. I've smoked poor Edmundos. The box that was the best, had really light and smooth wrappers. If I could have cloned the box, I would have. Those were sweet, light cocoa powder/sugar. Darker ones, more bitter chocolate cocoa powder/powdered sugar, but good, even though they looked like they were wrapped with brown tree bark. To me its a good cigar. I've had less luck with the DE personally, but haven't smoked as many.
  3. Shhhhh. Those were the days. I gave up a while ago.
  4. Yes, I was unhappy when CORO passed the $300 mark. If I would have only knew, I would have saved one box for everyone I smoked.. Agreed. I think I saw somewhere that the Reyes had the largest price increase, by percentage than any other habano. Or it may have been just Trini, not sure. However, I love Reyes but not as much as they think it is worth. At 28 per.
  5. I'm glad I was able to find and smoke through a couple of cabs, post 2006. Unfortunately it is my favorite, by far of the Siglo series. Although I could afford to buy some, right now it's on hold. At least till the dust settles. If I would have known where we are today, I'd have a lot more in my humi.
  6. Late night Especial. Tubos, LGR OCT 18. My favorite of the Epicures.
  7. Can be beautiful cigars with 5 plus years of age. I have smoked hundreds of them over the years and most smoked very well along with the JL2. My 2 favorite Robustos. The cigar needs downtime even though there is an extra fermentation. With the ridiculous price increases on Cohiba, I will be saving what I have left for more special occasions. Even though I really like them they are not worth the new and honestly ridiculous pricing to me.
  8. Am I one of the only ones that could never get the #2 ? I would take any of the other brands #2's first. I mean, I have smoked a few very good ones. Maybe it's just not for me. 1, 3 and all of the Edmundos work for me. #4 has made a great comeback over the last 6 or 7 years too imo.
  9. Nice afternoon here with a 2014 Coloniales. Very nice..
  10. This is an old thread but I was online and his old videos popped up on YouTube. He is very much alive. His LinkedIn profile shows his employment through summer of 2021 as a corporate sales trainer. It is definitely his profile. It lists his past employment at the cigar shop he talked about. For whatever reason he just stopped and rumor is that he did get very sick and sold off his collection. In fact in one of his last videos he talks about his bad sinus infection that put him down for months. Maybe he didn't want to get contacted and possibly harrased by people trying to buy his cigars piecemeal. Everyone, including me wonder why he just didn't say bye to followers in a simple way. Since he had put so much into his hobby and worked hard and long to make so much content. Maybe it was like an ex wife who almost kills you through a divorce. You never want to see the b**ch or talk to her ever again. Haha, I know. I will just enjoy watching some more of his content as I have not watched nearly all of it.
  11. Wow what an incredible find ! It does indeed look like something that was high up in the government or a diplomatic gift.
  12. For a fine mate. 09 PSP2's 08 898's 12 RA Superiores 14 CORO's 13 MDE's.
  13. I've only smoked a box and a 5'er that I traded with a friend. For me, the 5 that I got in a trade had very light wrappers and I enjoyed them much better than the box of darker ones I smoked through. One of them was probably in the top 10 cigars I've ever smoked. I believe they had around 5 years of age on them. Cigar smoking is such a subjective experience and that's why you can't really tell someone else what they will like. Just suggest some ideas of what worked for you.
  14. Burned through entire boxes of 16's and early 17's. I couldn't not reach for them by the 4 year mark. Box of 20's I have managed to keep intact and will try to wait til the 3 year mark. One of my faves along with the principie. All made in one factory. Go figure...
