Rob posted earlier today an update in the Nicaraguan mission Forum. I thought it was a heartwarming read and deserved to be here.
At the end of this month we will transfer $1 from each box sold during January to Rob as well as all donations made from members during the month. Much appreciated gents! If at the time of placing your order you would also like to make a 1 or $2 donation just let Lise know. She also keeps a list for members who would like to do it automatically when they place an order.

An update on our humanitarian aid to Nicaragua.
My latest trip was a short one, only five days in December with two mates from our “Garden Club”(read, Cigar Club). Good things are happening!
The school has come a long way since February of last year when Rob was there. It will be a multi-purpose community building serving as a school, regional feeding center and church.

With diminished funding the feeding program has been consolidated to 14 locations. However it facilitates meal preparation and disbursement. The frequency and amount of food served is determined by available funds. Conferring with Roberto(Nicaraguan director):

The photos which follow are from our program at La Boquita. La Boquita is at the juncture of a river and the Pacific Ocean. The southeast side is easily accessible by automobile and boasts many restaurants, some on the beach even, as well as high dollar homes. The northwest side of the river is a stark contrast. Travel to our feeding program on the northwest side is limited by high tides and the river in the rainy season (mid-August through October). None the less Roberto manages to feed the kids despite the difficult conditions.

Oh! As an aside cigars included a box of SLR Regios, Monte 2’s and 4’s, Cohiba Sig II’s, III’s and Robustos, Partagas Connie 3’s, Upmann Mag 50’s. Yes, I did suffer through them all.
