Was this new double band cigar concept known or talked about before? I don't remember reading anything about those...

Stone me if i'm wrong... but isn't the H. Upmann No.2 a regular Reserva? Not a Gran Reserva?

.

You are correct Jeremy. Will be looking forward to those..

Dan, Don't.

Remember the RyJ Reservas?

I love the regular RyJ Churchill-T. I love the H. Upmann No. 2. Correlation might be horrible... for us.

Thanks for the info, Rob.

Still no word on what the 2014 book humidor will be then? (also as far as I know the Partagás Serie E No 1 from 2013 is still MIA)

Interesting to see the Flying Pigs finally cropping up in the legit releases.

Have a question about Spanish because I realized this today. On this site, we say "Habanos".

But...attachicon.gifimage.jpg

The casa name translates as the "House of the Havana [Cigar]". I suppose they could have called it the "House of Havanas" but the former is more distinctive...

I don't speak Spanish though innocent.gif

A vintage concept being introduced. That's peaked my interest.....

I'm interested as well, but am left wondering how it differs from its current, lazy and uninspiring "aged" selection with the usual second band.

Very true, does anyone know what Habanos is trying to do here or have more information on this concept?

"Habano" is like "bordeaux" or "cotes-du-Rhone" or "Roquefort": it's a protected designation of origin.

"habanos" means cigars belonging to the habano category.

ie: "the habano is the best cigar" / "I smoke two habanos a day"

Interesting (especially the Montecristo Churchill) - they've chosen sizes a la the EL program, and would it be correct to assume the five year aging is for the rolled cigars, and not the tobacco itself as in th GR program?

The Bolivar SC sounds interesting as well - thanks for the info.

Doubt it as there are no Monte Churchill and RyJ Piramides in the regular progam of Habanos. And can't imagine that they let them age for 5 years. But you bring an interesting point. Where is the difference then to the GR program? Or will it be similar to the Cohiba Maduro 5 line, only the wrapper is 5 years old.

regards

Lars
