I'm looking for some general and all round advice in running a Cafe..
I've been in the industry for 10 years, I've ran kitchens and a Restaurant briefly but never handled the cash.
In the next week or two I'm hoping to sign a contract to seal a deal on taking over and then re branding a local cafe.
It's not lucrative, It's going to give me and my partner a better income, Better life style and control of our own direction.
Questions, Advice, Pointers, Go?
I'm hoping to do a more up-market breakfast scene, Tackle the local "Tradie" market and also get a liquor license..
My capital to invest is pretty low however so I'm doing a delicate balancing act currently..
Eventually I plan to move into evenings..Maybe 3 nights a week.
Cafe currently operates Mon-Fri 7-3
I'm planning to make it 5-3 mon-fri and 7-2 Sat and Sunday.
Business currently is one big "room for improvement" but is running at a small profit and paying all outgoings and staff.
..Also. I'm considering offering Cigar sales. Just as a point to connect local Cuban smokers and actually offer a well stored reasonable selection eventually.
Currently the only Cigar vendors are like "SmokeMart" and a sex shop..
Should be mentioned I'm in regional victoria, Cafe is in Irymple, 5 minutes from Mildura.
Area population about 60,000.
