  1. What a day, not too bad at work and I arrived home, really looking forward to a cigar... this was from a sampler from years ago and I ran across it in my desktop humidor strange how things hide away in there. I really thought about pouring a single malt but ended up just grabbing a beer (things were getting complicated and I was not in the mood for too many details as there was some gardening to be done); that was convenient. Not a lot there at a cold but perfect draw, just some earthy/hay notes and did not cooperate with being lit at first... this started off with low hopes. 1st third, garlic?... ...no, but this really opened up with cream puff and toasted chocolate, but not like hot chocolate, this was separated, defined, creamy on the nose and chocolate at the sides of the mouth; a hint of what seemed like leather was bubbling through. 2nd third, squash?... no... ... bell pepper?!... ...no, but those hints of leather have turned out to be more of an oak flavor and coming in strong. Some chocolate still coming through but the cream is long gone. Enjoying this little stick as the burn settled out and generous puffs of smoke are readily available! Final third, worm dirt?... ...no, but just a nice touch of caramel as the drag begins to warmup a little. Strong tobacco flavors begin pouring through the rich smoke. I nubbed it till it became too hot, but just towards the end, was there another note singing through ...sage?... Haha, no. Now, for that glass of single malt.
