TM-US Posted June 27, 2017 Share Posted June 27, 2017 Some random pickups today - you never know what you will find gathering dust at the smaller bottle shops:- another bottle of the increasingly rare and expensive Ardbeg Dark Cove, last bottle at a fraction of the retail price.- an older bottling of the Glenfarclas 12 Year Old, old stock sherry matureds are hard to come by.- another bottle of the discontinued Glenlivet 16 Year Old Nadurra, last bottle on the shelf and something I have not seen on the shelf for a long time.Dark Cove at a fraction of retail?!? Many producers released a '72 vintage (and also kept pipes for colheita & tawny), but most was dumped due to poor spirit used. Has to be the scarcest vintage since the 1960's to find. Not even close to '70 (one of the best vintages ever) or 75/77. From what I read, the Dow isn't be bad actually... A little sweeter than normal Dow vintages.
