Popular Post Hurltim
Been a bit of a cruddy week and I was really looking forward to this cigar in particular when I got home. Getting ready to make some SC shelves for a project...Aroma at Cold: Barnyard and a hint of sweet baking spices.Cold Draw: Sweet tobacco and a bit of cocoa. Draw is perfect.1st. 3rd: Thick volumes of smoke coat the palette. The flavors are a bit hard to pin down: A Tang on the retro, a bit of cocoa, a pinch of leather and a sweet earthiness. The finish is short allowing precious little time to discern the flavors...medium body and complex AF. Then it hits me...I have SMELLED this flavor before. It tastes exactly like the SMELL of a freshly picked morel mushroom. I have never actually eaten a morel but I picked a few fresh ones almost 20 years ago and remember it like it was yesterday. Freshly picked morels don't really smell like mushrooms to me. There is a tangy, chocolate, sweet earthiness to the aroma. Very unique and exactly what this cigar tates like in the 1st 3rd. Wholly crap this is gonna be good! As the cigar progresses into the 2nd 3rd, the cigar picks up a wonderful toasted tobacco background that adds to the complexity and compliments the morel flavors and tips the cigar into the medium full category for me. The palette now picks up that tangy chocolate and the aroma of the smoke smells of toasted nuts. The finish gets longer by the puff and carries that tangy chocolate with it. The occasional hint of sweet baking spices just adds to the developing flavor bomb. Holy #$%#!!! As the cigar hits it's final third, the leather picks up in intensity on thr palette, upsetting the balance of the morel flavor on the palette but the morel flavor is still strong on the finish. That tangy chocolate sweet earth is just intoxicating. The last 3/4" gets a touch bitter but that tangy chocolate just keeps me puffing away until the very nub.Absolutely delicious cigar! 93-94. Just a bit of time down to smooth out that last inch or so and look out. Needless to say I will be hunting these in 24:24. Jimmy_jack
VR Unico is probably my top 3 right now. I've had only 1 but it was fantastic..same baking spice flavors. I am waiting to pick up a PSP box..for this stick I will settle for nothing less. Great review.

MahDooRow
Excellent review! Spot on in terms of the flavor descriptions. I need to pick up another box sometime this year, as I finished all my Unicos in late 2016.
