I need some help from you experts. My 2nd time smoking a cuban so I am amateur at best in knowing it's authenticity. I just got back from a week long vacation in Puerto Morelos, Mexico and I bought a 3 cigar pack of Cohiba's in the resorts tobacco/gift shop. The guy I spoke to assured me these are real, but it's his word against my uneducated knowledge of cuban cigars. Anyways, on to the pictures... What do you guys think?

At least it was only a 3 pack then rather than a full box of 25! Keep an eye out for the 24:24 sales and you can pick up something genuine. You can always keep that box as a memento of your trip

agreed, fake.  Glass top, single cap, band is wrong, packaging is wrong...

I would cut one open and see what it looks like and if it is a nice long leaf filler fake, smoke it.  If it is crappy short filler, toss it as it could have nasty crap in it!

Agreed that I would love to see one of these cut open. My buddy brought back some Cohiba fakes from Mexico that when we cut open were filled with trimmings and had a ton of hair in them. Gross.

For what purpose? Long filler, short filler, fresh hay, dog turd, who cares?

Anyway I suspect this thread is a joke… just google "glass top Cohiba"…

Welcome to FOH, fugi_y. Sorry for your loss here. In the meantime, please help us get to know you better by telling us a bit about yourself in the New Member section of the site. There is much information here, not to mention a fraternal atmosphere not often encountered online.

I thought the days of the glass-top Cohibas were behind us in the age of the internet. I see I am wrong. Whether this is a joke question or not, it exists.

I do love the effort though. It's pretty rough looking, but clearly there was some time spent on this box and the stickers, etc. simply to sell two cigars. I'd keep it for novelty purposes!

Guys,

im new here, but I think we should hold off on the accusations of being a joke.  Sure, diligence should be done but if you know nothing about Cubans, are at some resort without your phone and a pushy sales guys accosts you....well, we all can get suckered from time to time in a similar scenario.

best thing we can do is point out, "yup fake" and encourage resources like this great forum to learn.

now, I'm all about the guy code of fighting, teasing, badgering etc as acceptable forms of male communication.  Good for the soul.  Sadly, it just comes of poorly behind a keyboard unless you truly know the other person.

so, @fugi_y I'll play nice now, but if I ever get the chance to meet in person or get to know you better, I will then unleash teasing you about buying these dog rockets.  ?
