Though this is late in your quest and I am sure things are ok now. I had done the same thing.

I now have satelite reminders (friends) that contact me weeks in advance do to the abuse that I took for making such a mistake.

If I can recall correctly, Rob now has all birthdays and anniversaries up on a whiteboard... and Lisa smacks him on the head a few days before as a reminder!

Know this is an old thread, but had to read the whole thing and offer a reply. This is one damn funny thread. Obviously, el Prez survived the worst of indescretions! Best part of this is the wealth of support and understanding from all the guys here. Seems a LOT of us have similarly screwed up at some time! Keep up these posts, Rob. Great entertainment!
