The season is a long one, full of peaks and troughs (or valleys). Let's see where the Red Sox are around the mid-point...which is traditionally around the All-Star Game in July. I'm excited for Tanner Houck. What a fine pitcher he has become. That 'Maddux' he threw the other day was sensational! Losing the first 5 games of the season, with practically one hit from going down 0-6 and to come back to win the next 10 in 13 games? It's only been done five times in the history of baseball. Yes, the Mets are on a roll. Alongside the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers, who collectively are the 'hottest' teams in MLB at the moment. Let's see how they go on this upcoming West Coast trip against the LA Dodgers and SF Giants. One thing I can't explain...has leaving the NY Yankees allowed Harrison Bader to play 'out of his skin', especially in clutch-hitting, or is the fact he can now grow facial hair on this team? 🤔

I was actually thinking about that last week. It depends on @El Presidente 's schedule whilst he's away in the United States. If he has time, he'd announce on the forum and on the day's 24:24 listing. They're always a good catch-up. Let's schedule one for this week coming. I agree with mossy, you need to exhaust smoke out. Air purifiers are decent at tidying up the lingering smoke and odor but can be challenged dealing with active smoking. It’s impossible to handle all the smoke at the moment it’s created so some will leak through walls, ceilings, floors, etc. The more you can vent outside, the easier time your purifier will have. For a small room, a bath room exhaust fan should be plenty efficient if it’s possible to install one in that room. Ideally, if your room has outside walls, a small window on one side that you could crack open a little and an exhaust fan on the other side venting directly out could work. Smoke odor is tricky though, I’ve found it nearly impossible to keep some “aroma” out of the house when I smoke in the garage and I’ve got an exhaust fan out there. Good luck

Di and I caught up with Anna and Bill last night for dinner at Parkers Lighthouse in Long Beach LA. There are several inherited diseases for which genetic data identified the underlying molecular cause of the disease and was used to devise the first disease-modifying treatments for them. The US has privacy laws known as HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) that makes it illegal to disseminate anyone's protected medical history, information and records, including any genetic information. It's taken very seriously, to the point that state-of-the-art data encryption is a requisite feature for any organization housing and using protected medical information. For those conducting biomedical research involving human data, a single HIPAA violation leads to the culprit receiving a lifetime ban on conducting any further human data-based research.

I assume you’re using the purifier while smoking and after, thus the intake is pulling air (and smoke) into the unit. That is one problem (raising the unit will help a bit), and the other problem is that there is no true exhaust for the smoke. You’re probably using a HEPA filter and *that* is going to get clogged with smoke and need replacement at some time. There are several examples that I’ve seen of in-line filtration of an exhaust port (e.g., a kitchen exhaust), adding something like that may resolve the problems with your neighbors.

Welcome to the misery. Pricing in both UK and Ireland is insane. If it helps you justify things, JJF and others on St James are unlikely to be around for a whole lot longer (given recent legislation). I plan to enjoy them while I can.
