  1. Landing in Brisbane. We have one week without the kids and one week with the kids. Will be hanging around Brisbane for a wedding once the kids show up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Excellent @toofargone! We certainly don't mind jumping on a short plane ride up to Cairns/Port Douglas. Appreciate the info!
  3. Hi all - I'm heading to Australia for the first time in about a month. We'll be landing in Brisbane and will have about a week to kill with my wife without the kids. Good times! We like wine & going out to nice restaurants. We are also up for some tours. Wondering if we should do the great barrier reef? Also heard the outback can be fun... Anyone have suggestions out there? Would love to hear them. Cheers!
  4. You should hit Gastown. It's the happening part of town with tons of bars and restaurants. The Diamond is a great spot with really good cocktails.More of an after dinner place though. But they do have good stuff to snack on. It's a bit hard to find - upper level of two story building.Pourhouse - upscale pub with great food and cocktails. One of my fave spots for sureL'abbatoir - upscale, happening spot, great food, great cocktailsIf you're into beer you must go to The Alibi RoomNear the Alibi is another of my faves - Cuchillo - Great for a small bite and a few dozen beveragesChambar is an institution in Vancouver. Very cool room. Good food. Buzzy. Belgian influence.Ask for Luigi if you want Italian

  6. There are no hard and fast rules on how much age a Cuban cigar needs. I think the bigger issue is the cigars have not been resting very long in his humidor. He says he has acquired these sticks "over the last few months" I would guess these cigars will get much better in the coming months as they settle down from their journey.

  8. Congrats Jon! You can't go wrong with aged Cohiba's. Hopefully your son will like cigars! If not, you'll have a great box on your hands!
  9. Check out The Martian by Andy Reid. Great sci-fi book I read recently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
