  1. My only problem with the Padron 2000 is that the draw is too loose.
  2. Found this quote that I think all cigar smokers can relate to: Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. CS Lewis
  3. I was one of those chaps that thought I'd never get married. Then I met Karen a monarchist convention and got married 4 months latter and never regrated it once (despite her mother). I can never understand these people who make bad jokes about their wives.
  4. A little while back I was talking about smoking pipes more often so as to enjoy cigars occasionally. However with government anti tobacco crusading still going on and getting stronger that has now not much of an option either. So now I'm back to Nasal Snuff (no not the silly girly type flavoured ones but classics). Oddly enough some of them remind me of Havana Cigars. Shops in Australia cannot snuff since 1991, yet one can buy for ones own use from overseas. I still like reading things here and like to be a part of it. Having a cigar once a year at Christmas and the like. If I'm only sm
  5. The thing is that they put up the taxes by a whopping 15% (when the taxes were some of the highest is the world) and from what I understand they are going to do this 3 more times!!!!
  6. Anyone out there remember the old Partagas Toppers? This was my go to cigar back in the 90's when I had little money, they weren't too bad, for what they were. I seem to feel that some other Havana brands made this panatela, am I right? Anyway do you remember them?
  7. You know this is something I often do and have not given much thought to. Next time I will think about the taste when changing drinks. Last night I had a martini than a Fino Sherry.
  8. I really whish they would go back to the mat bands. Also can we please see an end to this bloody double banding!
  9. When I saw the title of your post "A week of heaven and hell" I thought about the times I stayed with my in-laws who live in Sydney with a Harbour view.
  10. The problem with non-Cuban cigars is that there are so bloody many of them out there and one can spend a lot trying to find the one one likes. That said I have found some non-Cuban cigars that are real gems but not ONE of them was like a Cuban cigar.
  11. Yes the Amur tiger was/is the biggest but their size has been dropping over the years due to lack of habitat. Bengal Tigers from northern India and Nepal are now on average bigger.
