  3. Saturday we were supposed to take the little one to the circus, but of course it was cancelled. So we took her to our local Farm/Home supply store to play with the baby ducks and chicks. The ducks were her favorite! Started off Sunday morning by watching Frozen 2 with her. Definitely trying to enjoy as much free time with her as possible since she is getting pretty independent and has started liking to do her own thing. 😢 We also watched the birds enjoy our feeder. Made some BLTs for lunch and then the ladies went off to nap. Im gonna brave the cold and enjoy this Monte 4 with a little sip of Weller. We will close the weekend out with a quick and easy Americanized version of Korean pork with steamed rice and then we will probably settle down by playing some good old fashioned Solitaire. Good way for her to learn numbers and maybe kickstart her professional gambling career
  4. If it makes you feel any better, I have to travel out of state to get it. 😄

  6. Wont lie... I'm actually excited for the new Jose L Piedra releases. ☺️
  7. Agreed. Smoked on the room balcony in Mexico and Punta Cana. In Punta Cana, stayed at The Excellence. Really enjoyed it. Bring your own cigars, the ones in the shop were on the costly side and there were no Cubans. Water can be rough at times so there wasnt much swimming but I definitely enjoyed the place. This is adults only. In Mexico we stayed at TRS Yucatan. Its adults only but connected to other resorts that do allow kids. The places to eat are shared by the resorts so you will be dining with families. Didnt bother my wife and I at all, we couldnt care less, but there were some couples staying at our resort who complained about it. So if you're wanting something super romantic, this might not be the place for you. Anyway, there is a private beach for TRS guests only and the first day we went there, my wife and I were the only people not smoking something. In the bar at TRS, they were selling some Cubans but they were priced as such and I couldnt verify authenticity so I smoked my own. Water was nice. Anyway, that's my experience. Im sure most places accommodate it.
  8. I think that "this day of equality of rights, diversity, and inclusion" you speak of only pertains to the politician's and mainstream media's social agenda, which the push to decriminalize and popularize marijuana is a big part of. Tobacco of any kind is definitely not part of their social agenda. Because of this, I'm not sure I see lounges allowing you to smoke marijuana indoors starting a revolution for cigar lounges. I do hope I am wrong, though.
  9. Toasted marshmallow is what makes this one of the best cigars out there. I cant get enough of these. Great review!
  10. Option 5: In certain parts of the US, this is actually how people pronounce the word "twinkle". Twankle, twankle little star...
  11. Not to be a jerk. https://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/topic/143423-punch-mantua-italy-er/?tab=comments#comment-996427 Personally, I think they sound and look great. Might even be affordable compared to other ERs
  12. Ah yes, the Montecristo Robusto. FOHs cigar of 2019. I read that in an article.
  13. Horrible example for kids. C'mon, how am I supposed to explain to my kiddo that cigars are bad for you when a collegiate athlete is smoking on national television??? 😉
  14. Kinda shocked to see the Fonseca No. 1 pop up so much. Feel free to send them my way 😀 I'd say for me HU2 BBF Some RASS I like most Cohibas but they are hard to justify based on their premium price.
  15. So you can do that? You can take 1 person's opinion and attribute it to the entire forum??? "Jose L. Piedra: The new Cohiba" FOH 😊
  16. Im hoping my Chiefs can finally get back to the SB. Gonna be super tough though. Im sure we are destined to do the "Chiefs thing" and choke it all away.
  17. Amazing pics and it sounds like you had a blast. Those oysters look delicious. Thanks for making us landlocked folks jealous!
  18. I definitely enjoyed the mildness of the cigar. I think the lower rating goes with the fact that it was on the younger side. In my short experience with Upmanns, especially connie 1s, they seem to score lower for me if they are younger than 3 years. That being said, Upmanns like the A or Winnie when young will score higher than this but they both get much better with age too. It may sound crazy but I think HU is a marca that ages extremely well compared to the others.
  19. Over the holiday season it was pretty windy and/or cold but I was able to step out one night and light up an HU Connie 1. I grabbed this from a box pass a little over a year ago. Since I hadn't had one in a while, I paired it with a Coke. Pre-light: Wrapper was super smooth and oily. Smell was of light cedar and barnyard. Used a v-cut, which has become a new favorite of mine, and took a cold draw. Draw was a little snug, flavors of hay and wood came through. First Third: The cigar was very mild and smooth. Smoke wasnt too thick, at first I wasn't sure if the cigar was completely lit. The main flavor I picked up was a light toasted tobacco. Some hints of grass with a touch of pepper at times. Second Third: The flavor of wood was still present but secondary flavors like grass and a touch of sweetness gained some notoriety. There was a slight burn issue on one side that seemed like it wanted to take its sweet time. With the cigar being so mild I was worried if I'd have to touch it up but after a while I was forced to. It threw off the next few puffs but the cigar regained its flavors after. Final Third: The final third didnt add much to the table. Same flavors of wood with a little grass. Sometimes some sweet and sometimes some pepper. The burn was a little wavy but didnt require any attention. Once the stick heated up, I pitched it. Overall I enjoyed the mildness of the cigar. It was a nice smooth relaxing smoke. There wasnt much complexity to it, but that doesnt bother me. Nothing that blew my socks off either. I think these are probably like all HUs, IMO. I think young they are consistently ok but with age, they get pretty complex and can become some top tier cigars. Score: 84/100
