  1. I agree. I think Colorado Bulldogs pair well with a lot of cigars. Good to see another fan out there!
  2. I'm on kid duty this weekend and it's cold out so I had to reach for something on the shorter smoke time side. About a month or 2 ago I was lucky enough to have my name drawn for a box of PL Montecarlo courtesy of El Pres. I put the kiddo down for a nap and headed to the garage. I decided to pair this cigar with a Colorado Bulldog, one of my favorite mixed drinks. The cigar was beautifully constructed. Nice, oily, Colorado Maduro wrapper with a little texture to it. I used a straight cut and the draw was a little on the snug side, but not bad. Hard to describe the taste during cold draw. Nutty maybe? Maybe something sweet? Very enjoyable though. First third was good. I think I got the cigar a tad hot when lighting it as I had to fight through a little harshness. But as soon as that was gone, I could really taste the caramel notes, especially when retrolhaling. The ash was flaky from the first third into the second third, but that didn't bother me. Just angry with myself for scorching, especially since I used my soft flame lighter. Second third was great. Caramel with a little nuttiness and slight bit of toasted tobacco. The shared flavors really complement each other. The construction is great and the burn is pretty sharp. The flaky ash continued into the beginning of the second third but that went away towards the end. One of the cap layers peeled off but didnt affect the cigar at all. The drink choice was great. Final third continued the caramel notes with more of a burnt flavor to it. The nuttiness was on the end but not as noticeable. The toasted tobacco flavor really came through towards the end. The drink choice was fantastic! A Colorado Bulldog is just a White Russian with a splash of Coke. To make it: 1 part vodka 1 part Kahlua(any coffee liquor) 1 part heavy cream(or milk if you have to be healthy) Stir and finish with a splash of Coke. This drink is on the sweeter side with a touch of coffee which really brought out the caramel and nut notes within the Montecarlo. The pairing definitely gives this a desert aspect with all the flavors. Great choice for the time of year. Smoke time was around an hour which was perfect. I wouldn't have lasted much longer in the garage with this weather. I highly recommend the PL Montecarlo. Love the size and flavor. I will revisit these in 6 months. Cigar: 88 (since I scorched it) Paring: 92
  3. I am surprised Pikesville is on here. I like it but thought it was considered a lower end whiskey. Always wanted to try the E.H. Taylor and Whistlepig. Thanks for sharing!
  4. Arrested Development is pretty much on repeat on my Netflix account. Anything Mel Brooks related, especially Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles and History of the World.
  5. @MountainMilG bought his in SC! If we don't hear from him or he starts posting pics of some Carribean island, we will know who cashed in.
  6. Love the size! These gonna be another Cuba pickup only or will they be available via the store?
  7. The wrappers look fantastic. Look like they have incredible texture.
  8. Just some information for you in the future. If you're not satisfied with a purchase, and have not published your feelings to the public in a non professional manner, Rob and company are very open to feedback and discussion. Next time, send a professional DM to Rob and I am sure he'd work with you. Also, I do know that @prodigy has a great collection and could definitely make you a great trade or purchase offer. You could take him up on that and then ask Rob to hunt you down a box you are looking for. I have seen some great boxes Rob has selected for people based on their request!
  9. Winnings from the 46 and south review! Thanks to @El Presidente for putting up a competition and a beautiful box along with it. Gorgeous box of PL Monte Carlo. EML ABR 14
  10. Ya. Unfortunately I dont live in a state like that. I get they want to ensure the "integrity" of the game, but I'd rather be left alone lol
  11. If I won, which I won't, i'm doing what the lady from New Hampshire did and suing for privacy. With my privacy, i'm not telling anyone. Just my wife and I know. We buy into her parents farm, and we take a salary. Only paying debts of mine and my wife's parents and brothers. If investments can make 1% of 500 million, that's way more than I need to live in 1 year.
  12. Love posts like this! Could we get a weekly thread like dealing with this topic? I enjoy looking at the grades next to one another. The PSP pics looks fantastic. Love to see the sheen on cigars like that.
  13. I like them both but if I had to choose it'd be the metal one. Those customs though...details, details!😍
  14. I'll second the Johnny's. There are a good number of steak places there. My buddy likes 801 Chophouse but you're gonna drop some cash there. Kinda depends on the atmosphere/amount of money you are willing to spend. I will add that we go to Omaha at least 3 times a year and every time we go we stay at the Old Market district. We love the Jackson Street Tavern and there is a great bar called Mr. Toad. There is also a place to smoke cigars called Havana Garage. All within walking distance. Have fun!
  15. Doesn't seem like a bad price if my currency calculator was correct. When do you plan on firing one up?
  16. Fantastic review, Joe! The descriptions were great. Loved the comment of "cilia", which I would have dumbly referred to as hairy. Great pic as well!
  17. Im in my early 30s and I've lived in Missouri my whole life. Some parts are still like this. Where I live in Missouri now, we see one every once in a while but it was alot more common back in high school and college. I went to college in a smaller town and a lot of people, myself included, would go hunting in the morning before 8 am classes. I kept my shotgun out of site in my truck but it wasn't uncommon to see trucks parked on campus with a full gun rack. Didnt think twice about it really.
  18. @Nekhyludov I knew you could see into the future. Quick, gimme the lottery numbers and I'll split it with you!
  19. Awesome!! Thanks @El Presidente for putting this on. Had a great time doing the review!
  20. Love that my Chiefs have a gunslinger in Mahomes but our defense is atrocious. Hopefully they can pick it up or I fear I will have a drinking problem by seasons end. The top 10 is close! Quick question: When tied in wins and losses what is the next decider to rank people?
  21. I will give this a shot. I usually move cigars from my aging tupperdor(65 rH) to my desktop(62 rH)for a bit to help dry them out but they still have the issue. Maybe dry boxing would help.
