Box of the Day

What? I don’t see the issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Appreciate the review! I have a triple D shorty on order, and it’s been quite the wait (why count the weeks? I’d only be hurting myself). But, I’m patient (as long as the product’s good, the wait ain’t no thing). I also have one of the last cabinets produced by Bob (a mini-tall) that I was hoping to love, but from day one it has had an unusual odor (Bob tried to make things right, building/sending me a replacement cabinet, but that one has the same issue). So, after about a year not being willing to put any loose cigars in the Aristocrat (for fear of the cigars taking on the odor) I’m hoping (

Just placed an order for this same exact combo. . . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I also place an order today for a triple D shorty (41” height). Looking forward to having some pull out drawers in a few months (current cabinet is packed and it’s no fun getting to the back). Now I need to decide - keep my Aristocrat mini-tall or find a buyer? Leaning towards the latter option (think I’m going to set a box limit for myself - I’ll stop once I fill the Avallo). How’s your Avallo treating you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Someone please tell me if I shouldn’t be doing this (sometimes you just need to take a shot in the dark), but would someone knowledgeable about CC vendors PM me? I have a question and I’m not sure who to turn to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I’ve had the impossible burger on a few occasions. A few of the smaller burger chains here in NYC have them on the menu, and my girlfriend’s a vegetarian, so I’ve taken bites of hers (haven’t been able to bring myself to order one for myself; I’m at a burger joint for a reason - a beef burger). They’re not bad. I’m not convinced that they’re healthier than the real thing, though (I’m not nutritionist, but the ingredient list doesn’t instill confidence), so I’ll stick with beef for now. I tell you what, though - the girlfriend’s VERY excited about BK getting the impossible burger, but others I’

Don’t think for a second that hadn’t crossed my mind the moment I found out he was retiring. “I pushed him into it, and I deserve to be tarred and feathered” was what flashed in my mind. But, in all seriousness, Bob was great and he seemed perfectly happy to help me out. To be completely honest, I wouldn’t be able to identify wet lumber smell if I was hit in the balls with a sopping 2x4 (I am only a humble desk jockey), but that would make sense given that the smell shows up when the door is closed and the cabinet has been humidified. When I opened up the door and aired it out, it would go b

I was surprised also! Cabinet is definitely one of the last Bob produced (rumors of retirement started up shortly after taking delivery). Quality is clearly top notch, and Bob did everything he could to help me out (he went above and beyond his duty), so I’m at a bit of a loss and wondering if it’s all in my head (although, I really don’t think it is). Would love to get a second sniff-test opinion from another Aristocrat owner, but it’s difficult to transmit an odor via the interwebz! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m considering ordering from Avallo as well. Took shipment of a Mini-Tall from Aristocrat a while ago, but I’ve run out of space (I know... I should have listened and gone bigger). My main concern, though, is odors. Unfortunately, my Aristocrat has had some issues with odors. I was hoping it’d have a neutral odor, or smell mildly of Spanish cedar, but since taking delivery, it’s had a less than pleasing smell (sort of like walking through a home depot - makes sense given the new materials used to build the thing, but would you want your cigars smelling like that?). So much so that I won’t put

Work life balance!!
McBeardface replied to Chucko8's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
Been working for the city for a little over two years now. Most expect that I work a strict 9-5 schedule (many believe municipal workers are lazy/entitled, but most of the people I work with are very dedicated and hard working), but these past 2 years have afforded me very little free time and a pretty dismal work/life balance. With that being said, I’ve been rewarded for all that hard work (3 promotions over 2 years, one of which just came this past week; a good salary for a city job), so it’s hard to complain too much, but it’s taking a toll on my health and social life. With the recent prom -

Like some others in this thread, I’ve been hanging out, but not contributing much (take pity on me - I’m just trying to learn as much as I can before I open my mouth), but this will be a great incentive for further involvement. Looking forward to this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Guys in the States...

Used to go here when I lived in Jersey. Good place to go with a group or if you want to be solitary and anonymous. Tons of space. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Being fairly new to these environments, I’ve been pretty cautious about where I spend my hard earned money. With that being said, I need to find a way to get some aged stock while I sit on the newer stuff. Always crossing my fingers hoping that the next 24:24 will be aged stock, as I trust this wonderful place above all others. Maybe I too will have excess inventory someday soon! Just placed an order for an Mini Tall DX. Having a hard time concentrating at work I'm so excited about this thing, although I'm almost kicking myself before the lumber's even cut. Keep thinking that I should have ordered the M Plus, but space is limited (NYC apartment) and I'm just starting out. I'll have to upgrade or get another if I keep going the way I'm going! I blame all of you . . . -
