  1. Same here, would have liked a 40 pack with 10 of each though. (Not a criticism , just expressing that I would love to try them all! [emoji16]) Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  2. Finally managed to get the bottle sent off and into an auction, thanks again for the suggestions. https://whisky.auction/auctions/lot/118695/martell-cordon-argent-extra Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for that guys, lots of good info to think about and look into. Cheers [emoji1634] Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  4. Evening, Have any of our UK members got any experience with selling bottles of spirits at auction. I've been given a bottle of Martel Cordon Argent Cognac to sell by my dad, it retails for about £850, me and my kids are going to split the profits so although I 'm not expecting retail price for it I'd like to make it worth my while not drinking it! Has anyone used any online auctions, either as a seller or buyer? Any recommendations or advice would be most appreciated. Thanks Rob Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  5. Monte 4, picked up as a sixer from 24:24. This is the third I've had and although I can see the appeal I don't think they are for me. I will leave the rest a few years and try again I reckon. Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  6. Seems to be every marca and vitola , sounds like one way or another it's a moisture issue. I don't think it's placement in the humidor as they all face different directions..
  7. I don't have any problem with smoking around my kids (10 & 12), only outdoors and downwind. I have explained to them the difference between Cigars and Cigarettes and the relative risks balanced with the enjoyment I get. I said I would give them up if they gave up eating sweets and chocolate. No takers so far! They still tell me off every time I light up, but I figure that all the time they don't like me doing it there's less chance of them wanting to smoke cigarettes and if either of them want to start smoking Cigars, then great - as long as they can afford to pay for them themselves and are old enough to buy them. 8. They're kept at 62%, maybe I should do some drybox experimentation and see if that helps. Thanks Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  9. Not quite that much! You could be right, I'll look out for that next time. Cheers Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  10. My cigars usually burn beautifully with no relights or touch ups necessary, until the final third, when it seems impossible to keep the thing lit for more than a few puffs. I also find a lot of wrappers splitting at that point. I wondered if the frequent relights could be causing the wrapper to split, not sure why the relights are necessary though. Anybody else experience frequent burn issues in the final third? Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  11. I've got a box of HUHC and the Monte HC and prefer the HUHC. Judging by the comments here I would definitely jump on a box of the RyJ if they come up on 24:24. Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  12. Eid Mubarak to you and yours and thanks for sharing. I have been an atheist all my life but have always found religion fascinating. I didn't know about the process for Islamic wills, very interesting. Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  13. Made a cigar rest out of an old rotten looking fence post. The post must be at least 80 years old and looked completely rotten, after cutting through I realised the interior was perfect, so now I have a load of nicely aged and interesting looking oak to do something with. 14. Everytime I think I have found a bargain it turns out to be a 10 box! [emoji19] Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  15. Get your self to Northamptonshire, the home of English shoemaking and do a tour of the factory shops:https://northamptonshoes.com/ Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  16. Perfecdraw all the way. I use it more for that than its intended purpose. Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  17. I found a cheap flexible head bbq lighter in Lidl, it's like the perfect hybrid of a Jet Flame and a soft flame. Plus the flexi head makes it really comfortable to use. After realising how good it was I went back to get another one, but as is the way with Lidl they had all gone. Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks John, I suspected as much. I did pick up a quarter cab from 24:24 recently with nearly 3 years on them. Might spring for a cab for sleeping if I like them. Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  19. I never hear of these in 25s, do they exist? Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
  20. I was sitting enjoying a Magnum 54 in the garden yesterday, enjoying the late evening on the longest day of the year, when I noticed that whoever had put the second band on had used rather a lot of glue. They had also left a really clear finger print on the band. Although we all know our cigars are hand rolled it was rather nice to see the evidence so clearly. I felt a small moment of connection to this unknown person all the way over in Cuba. I shall never know who you are, but Gracias, Your work is very much appreciated. 21. A 2006 Punch Coronation Tubo, it is the last one from my first box purchase. It might get smoked soon though as I really enjoyed the rest of the box. Has there been a Punch review weekend yet? Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
  22. From a cab via 24:24, these are becoming a firm favourite, perfect little smoke that can be fitted in around whatever else is going on. This one as usual had excellent construction and perfect draw, nice even burn throughout. Paired with a straight Bisin Grass Vodka, the flavour was sweet paprika in the first half with a pleasant yeasty sweetness kicking in throughout the second half. Smoke time was a whole episode of Frontier and an episode of Norsemen (70 mins ish) 4 stars, I look forward to seeing what another year or so of age will do. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
  23. I once got a distinct black tea, tannic note from a JL2. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
  24. Evening all, What is the advantage of storing at rh levels above your prefered smoking rh level, why not store at 58rh and avoid having to dry box? Cheers Rob
