Agree. The embargo gives the Castro's a boogeyman to blame everything bad on. It also puts millions of $$ into the hands of certain Cubans in Miami (calling cards, air charters, freight, etc). So regarding the powerful on both sides, I wonder if any of them sincerely want the embargo to be lifted?

I'm hearing that more restrictions are going to be announced soon. Including a possible ban on the importation of ANY amount of tobacco and or rum from Cuba into the US. Anyone else hearing anything?

Two of these were purchased today with $5.00 USD. Milk for the next week for a family of four. "Only" three hours in the line. And she feels very lucky to have them.

Hearing the same from Havana. Even the “party members” are finding things more difficult. Situation is fairly desperate in Varadero as well from what I’m told. USD is trading at 1:1.50 or more with the CUC. I look for the screws to be tightened to a degree not seen before if the President wins re-election. Polls in Florida are too close to call, so something could possibly happen in this regard in the next 30 days. SCOTUS pick could pacify the diaspora in Miami, so this is just me speculating.
