  1. LFD Dominicana Ligero L-Granu At 6x64, my first of the really big rg cigars. Was very surprised it fit in my cutter, but just barely. Also have a 70rg Alec Bradley Texas Lancero that I will have to use my punch on for my very first time since it won't fit my cutter. Very tasty with lots of smoke volume as you could guess from such a large rg. About a mild-medium and full hour smoke time Perfect draw, burn and construction too Probably won't buy any as I just didn't really enjoy the feeling of the large rg in my hand or mouth. Was still a very enjoyable cigar though
  2. Tatuaje Havana VI Almirantes Churchill Extremely tasty, just like I have come to expect from Tatuaje. Excellent draw, burn needed 1 correction. Construction-wise, as soon as I cut it, and there was plenty of the cap left, the entire wrapper came loose. Took a fair bit of gluing to fix it, which is why I always cut, test draw and use a draw tool if needed on my cigars at least an hour before smoking so in case it needs some glue, it has time to dry. Everything worked out fine though and it was a very enjoyable hour smoke The Leaf Cameroon Cuban Corona Extremely tasty. A little spice upfront with with a unique main flavor I can't describe, and some sweetness in the aftertaste. Perfect draw, burn and construction Overall I really good smoke. Really enjoyed the unique taste Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Bon Chasseur Excellent taste.. just a tad milder than most of the other Tatuaje's I have had. Very smooth, rich smoke Perfect draw, burn and construction All around excellent cigar. Glad I have 2 more
  3. I'm willing to give it a try, but I have a horrible palate, so I'm not really expecting to be able to notice a difference Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  4. @Cigar Surgeon Have you honestly noticed any difference in lighting uncut? Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  5. Good points. I agree 100% with everything. Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  6. Same with my palate. I never taste the various things others taste in their cigars with the exception of earth, wood, leather, grassy, metallic, and mustyness. Never any of the food flavors others describe Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  7. Interesting. Never heard of this before. I have never had any issues using a butane triple flame torch to light with the capp cut and puffing while lighting. Initial taste is the same as it is after lighting. Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  8. 2014 QDO Imperiales Outstanding! A solid medium with a thick, rich, smooth, balanced taste and not a hint of that "aged" or musty taste I start getting a little of around this age. No idea how they were young, but 7 years later they are just awesome. Probably one of the best aged smoke, or any smoke for that matter, I have ever had. Would definitely scoop up more of about this age if I could. Avoid Syncro Nicaragua Toro Pretty good taste. A little on the fuller side than I prefer. Excellent draw and burn. Unsure on construction as the entire wrapper started to come off immediately after cutting, and there was plenty of cap left. Required a fair bit of glue to repair. Overall, this one just isn't really for me.
  9. Oliva Serie V Liga Especial Lancero Extremely tasty and on the fuller side. Excellent draw, burn and construction Carlos Torano Signature Collection Torpedo Excellent taste Draw was excellent but for some reason required several puffs to get any smoke. Burn was uneven and required a few corrections Coal was extremely large and smoke was hot Construction, unsure but I suspect it was the cause of the problems, just don't know how Overall, disappointing compared to all the others I have had which were perfect
  10. 2015 HDM Double Corona Said by many to be the best of the Hoyo marca Extremely good taste, a smooth, mellow, mild-medium. Excellent burn, draw and construction,. In spite of being extremely tasty, can't really say it tops the Epicure linea, more like equal to... Also never had a recent production one to compare to LFD Ligero L250 Tubo Very nice, unique taste and a fair bit of spiciness without being too much Excellent burn, draw and construction All around nice departure from most of my smokes, but goes pretty quickly
  11. Its supposed to kill any tobacco beetles, larvae and eggs. Habanos S.A. says all Cigars are frozen in Cuba before distribution, and I'm told many distributors freeze them again. I have never bothered and been fine for 15 years and it can't just be all luck with the number of Cigars I have had in that amount of time Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  12. I never have and haven't had a problem in 15 years. Most people reccomend it though... Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  13. Many do seem to use coolers with great success, but I personally went with an Iris 74qt, gasketed lid, airtight and 6 closure clips tupperdor. My Bovedas are just as plump as when I got them 6 months ago and it has about 300 cigars in boxes with room for a few more. Also returns to 65% rh in minutes after opening. Great container for like $30 to $40, I forget exactly. Have a second one plus supplies for it on my Christmas list Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  14. I have done both and never noticed any difference. Now I have to store them closed since all I have is a 74qt tupperdor, not my 6ftx6ft cabinet where I could leave them open Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  15. I've smoked plenty of each with 2018, 2019 and 2020 box dates immediately and they were plenty tasty to me. Aging may improve them, but I don't feel that it's a necessity in my experience Also, I leave mine in the boxes and they are just fine Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  16. Very interesting and excellent advice based on a very well examined example. I certainly won't be smoking anything with mold on the foot for sure Thanks for the good advice based on solid facts Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  17. @99call Good info Interesting that you have dissected and examined some with mold on the foot. Most say just to trim it until you can't see any mold, but based on your examination results, its logical there could still be mold inside that just isn't visible on the foot. Would definitely not want to smoke mold with my chronic pneumonia, copd, and severe asthma. Could be a serious issue for me. Just spent 4 days in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator due to mild pneumonia setting off my asthma badly, so mold could be a serious problem. Will take your opinion to not smoke one with mold in the foot. Fortunately I have never had any mold anywhere except for spots on the body Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  18. General practice seems to be just cutting back on the foot until no mold is visible anymore, then smoke away. Have personally only ever had a few small spots of mold on any cigars in 15. Years, and never on the foot, so haven't personally tried cutting it back. Makes sense and seems like it would work fine though Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  19. Flor de Ybor City No,75 Natural A nice skinny 7x36, but had a perfect draw, burn and construction in spite of the small rg. Extremely tasty. Have just recently discovered FdYC, and have had fair number now and all that have been excellent in every regard. Just received 3 ten packs of different vitolas and wrappers yesterday that I had just ordered Friday morning! How's that for fast processing and shipping time? Wish every vendor was like that. Plus got another thank you card from Arturo Fuente jr. Make a neat display item to add to my cigar decorating motif in my room to make it more homey and less institutional. Need more wall hanger item though. They are still pretty bare. Will be looking for some this week to add to my Christmas list for my mother and sister Partagas Serie E No.2 Extremely tasty and perfect draw, burn and construction as always Just an excellent smoke. Butera Royal Vintage Fumo Dolce Ok taste and burn. Tight draw, tightly rolled, and wrapper developed multiple 1" cracks in multiple places while smoking. Overall, wasn't impressed and the taste just isn't for me. Chateau Fuente Cuban Belicoso Sun Grown Extremely tasty as always and perfect draw, burn and construction Excellent smokes and one of my favorites
  20. I have a pound of heartfelt beads that I can just overhydrate to season the boxes before adding any bovedas. Or just wipe them down with distilled water works too. Either way, I can get them well humidified before adding the bovedas, and let the rh stabilize to my preferred 65% before adding any cigars. This system I learned on the forums, and seems to be widely used. Worked perfectly for my current 74qt container Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  21. Cedar and empty wooden cigar boxes will help keep rh more stabilized and fill volume that the Bovedas or crystals need to humidify, so they will return to the desired rh after opening the container more quickly. You can buy empty cigar boxes on Amazon for like $25 for 10 and $31 for 20 I will be buying twenty next month to hold the bundles of cigars I will be buying and to fill space, when I get my second Iris airtight 74qt tupperdor, while I'm slowly filling it with cigars Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  22. I use large and medium Sistemas, but they appear to be pretty much the same as the one in your picture. Rubber gasket and clip lock lid is all that matters I use an Iris 74qt tupperdor for my boxes of cigars Not unless some are infused cigars. Those need to be stored separately. Other than that it doesn't matter Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  23. Really depends on how many cigars you have and if you are willing to get a good humidor with a good seal. The cheap ones seal poorly and go through Bovedas fairly quickly. An airtight tupperdor is much better than a humidor in my experience. Both of my humidor are not in use anymore. I use tupperdor exclusively for a while now and they are a huge improvement Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  24. I would think that you would need quite a few bags and Bovedas if you have much stock. That said, no reason it wouldn't work just fine Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
  25. Ramon Allones ER 2014 Alemania 8-9-8 Excellent taste. First third was mild, mellow and smooth, 2nd third picked up to a more flavorful medium and the last third was a very flavorful, more powerful medium-full. Perfect draw, burn and construction too All around excellent cigar. Good way to start my day
