  1. Smoke my first Monte 2 a couple of months ago and this was spot on for me. Unfortunately especially the relight issues. My father in law had the one right next to mine in the box and had no issues. Guess it comes with the territory. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. What kind of tape was on the Aristocrats? Is it something we can find on amazon or elsewhere? I feel like I’ve heard a few people say they thought it was superior. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Weird. Somehow it worked for me. I’m using Tapatalk on an iPhone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I’m very much interested in the answer here. I get the same effect when I leave home and turn up the thermostat and my cooled Avallo runs more often. The RH spikes up by ~5%... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. @PigFish, every time I read your stuff I feel like I learn, in five minutes, what would require me five hours to figure out on google. I would have expected a degree in physics would give me some intuition learning about humidification requirements for cigars but it has been a learning curve (albeit a fun learning curve). 6. Yep. I can’t say enough good things about Matt and his product. He’s underwater obviously with Aristocrat closing their business. But two months in I am very pleased with my unit. Works great and it a good looking piece of furniture. So good looking that my wife lets me keep it in our bedroom (lets me keep a close eye on it and keep anyone from snooping thru my stash). 7. I’ll take any odds you want to give me on the over! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Love my 2000 Cooled but it is a wait. I ordered in October and took delivery in late May. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Haha. Sig P320. In these uncertain times I don’t leave home without it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. A few more pics now that I’ve started to move a few sticks in. Singles and my cheapo yard smokes up top. Just starting to move in some boxes. I’m just getting back into cigars after a bit of a hiatus so it is a process. Between starting from zero and my burn rate working from home during the coronavirus it is going to take a bit of time. 10. Loving the humidor so far. My only issue (which doesn’t seem to be the humidor’s fault) is when we leave town on vacation and I set the thermostat in the house to 78 the humidity in the humidor rises about a percent or two higher than the target. I think it is likely because the ambient RH in the house increases when the AC is running less. Still holds 68-70% RH and 68-79 degrees but definitely increases slightly versus when I’m home. I’ve installed a dehumidifier in our upstairs laundry room to try and keep the house drier when we aren’t home. Hopefully that does the trick. Other than that minor issue it has been fantastic. Slowly but surely filling it up. Drawers are solid. Door seals nicely. And the electronics work great. Let me know if you have any specific questions or want a closer look at anything. I know how pictures and info seem to make the waiting go by faster... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I need to get another couple hygrometers to say for sure. I expect it should run slightly more humid at the top than bottom without intervention. That said it has six circulation fans that can set to run for 0-60 minutes an hour. So it is a matter of finding the right setting for the fans to minimize the gradient. I’ve been advised 3-5 minutes should distribute the air though some customers like to go with a bit more to ensure the gradient between too and bottom stays low. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. So far so good. The cabinet is very solidly built. The door has good weight to it and the magnets pull it closed with some strength. The temperature stabilized very quickly and I turned on both humidifier canisters overnight. It’s been locked at 67-68% rh and 68-70 degrees. It seems to cycle the cooling at +2 degrees above my 68 degree set point (ie turns on at 70) and cools to the set point before turning off. Keeps it in a nice tight temperature range. The fan on the thermoelectric cooler is a little more noise than the six circulation fans inside the cabinet. That said the noise is so minimal we can watch tv in bed at night with it just on the other side of my bedside table. More to come as I have additional thoughts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I will post a more thorough review after a few days or weeks of break-in but my new Avallo 2000 Cooled humidor was delivered today after placing the order with Matt back in October/November (there were a few tweaks and upgrades over a couple of weeks). It takes a while but Matt provides updates and pictures along the way. The humidor arrived well packed on a pallet. It took me and a buddy to carry it to its upstairs home in our master bedroom. Only five minutes to set up and get everything running (except the water canisters since Matt recommends stabilizing temp before introducing humidity). After a day or two it will be time to start moving cigars in. It’s going to take a lot of ordering to get this thing anywhere even close to full. Pictures are before the humidor was moved upstairs. It will not live in the middle of our hallway... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    The Wheezycab

@BTWheezy this is an awesome build. I’m currently waiting for my Avallo 2000 cooler humidor to be finished so this is a lot of fun to watch while I wait. Your cabinet is going to a beautiful finished piece. I am curious, what is your day job? You are amazingly skilled and have a fantastic shop for someone who is just a “hobbyist”...
