2010 was my sons birth year so I heavily stocked up on the Monte GE after smoking all 3 ELs from that year. Only smoke them on his birthday and I look forward to smoking one with him one day. 2011 was all COHIBA 1966 for me. I still have a few boxes of RAAE. They are good but 1966s are ethereal. Was fortunate to be able to really stock up from 2007 to 2014 and build a good breadth and depth of Cubans Only buy a box or two (mostly vintage) when something interesting comes up in private sales, the occasional new production (like the Trinidad marca extension) or RE/EL (depending on marca and vitola) or when travelling (when we could travel). A friend of mine received the first dose. Had a headache for a couple of days but nothing after that. Second dose coming soon. Hopefully, no major side effects after that one. On another note, I was speaking to another friend of mine who is a front line worker. Says that 30% of front line workers at the hospital she works at do NOT want to take the vaccine due to concerns about side effects. Thought that was pretty interesting. Jamaican blue mountain is being released in Canada in February 1. 2 new lungos were released this week as part of a rebrand. The Shanghai and Buenos Aires lungos are now part of the world explorations series. Stockholm Lungo has also been released and Tokyo, Vienna and Cape Town to follow soon. It will be a permanent addition to the Vertuo line and a limited edition for the original line. Jamaican Blue mountain rumoured to be released in late January/early February. 2 new lungos are starting to be released globally: Shanghai and Buenos Aires. Other current lungos are being rebranded and reformulated. Stockholm fortissio Lungo has been released in Canada. Got the opportunity to restock on tribute to Trieste through a private sale. Had all 3. true to their marcas, in terms of flavour profiles. Monte, RA and QdO would be my rankings. Monte by a small margin to RA and QdO my least favourite (never jived with that marca) Agreed that the packaging is overkill. Would prefer classic packaging. Easier to store and no lacquer odour.
