  1. Still have some openings, but time is short. Let me know if you're interested.
  2. Yes, there's still an opening in the Cohiba league. PM me with your name and email address and I'll get you set up. Draft hasn't been set yet, but it will be in the evening, 9 or 10pm NY time, on the day closest to 9/5 that everyone can make.
  3. So we're getting ready to start our 10th annual FOH fantasy football leagues. We have had two leagues the past few years, the Cohiba league ($200 USD buy-in), and the Quinteros league ($50 buy-in). Both are 12-team leagues, standard rules (non-PPR). We have a few openings in each league, so if anyone is interested in joining us, shoot me a PM with your email address, and specify which league(s) you're interested in joining. The leagues are hosted at ESPN.com, and funds are paid to and held by LeagueSafe.com (although there is some discussion about switching to another escrow service for the money). Prizes are awarded in cash, but winners are expected to spend their winnings on cigars from our host.
  4. Whatever you do, don't ever, ever turn them on Fridays. That's asking for trouble. It is known.
  5. We are still needing one more for our Cohiba league. Please PM me if you're interested, for the details.
  6. So the Quinteros league is now full, but we still have 2 slots open in Cohiba league. PM me if you're interested.
  7. Update: The Quinteros league is full up, but there is still one open slot in the Cohiba league as of right now. PM me with your email address if you want it.

  9. I had always hoped to catch up with him someday in Malaysia to talk about his writing and have a cigar. You just really never know. Too young. http://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2017/06/03/veteran-journo-rehman-rashid-dies/
  10. PM me your address, I'll send you what's left. I have given some away since the original posts, but I think I have almost all of them deep in the coolidor. I'll keep one for myself to smoke after your review and send you the rest.
  11. Piggy, As always, a thoughtful post. While you and I disagree on many political issues, I have great respect for your positions, because I think you're an honest, irreverent, and interesting guy. I value all three qualities a great deal. I'll try to give your post the response it deserves when I have time later. For now, I will say that I both agree and disagree with different parts of what you said here.
  12. 1. No one said he was stealing cigarettes. He was being arrested for selling cigarettes. Also, for you to make the point that he was murdered for resisting arrest means that we should take the word of the cops who choked him to death, and disregard what we can see with our own eyes in the video. Was he still resisting arrest, in your opinion, after he was unconscious, or just before, when he was still conscious, and reacting to being choked (ultimately to death)? 2. Yes, people are outraged by the quarterback sitting. You may be disgusted, but others are outraged. Also, I don't know you, so my statement clearly didn't include you. 3. Why do you think that I think that? Of course people can be bothered by both. I didn't say they can't. I said that the people that I know who are most outraged (and yes, they are too) about this are people who didn't have anything to say about the cops caught on video committing murder (and then skating in nearly every case). If you want to respond to what I said, respond to what I actually said. Read carefully. One other thing I noticed about this thread (and this isn't directed at you, Hutch): People pointing out, without any apparent sense of irony, that they are disgusted with the concept of "political correctness". You do realize that it's exactly "political correctness" that is the issue here? What the quarterback has violated is exactly that: the norms of political correctness that govern how we treat the flag and national anthem. For anyone to criticize this protest as "political correctness run amok" seems a bit ridiculous.
