  1. I've tried various CDB gummies. No discernible effects of any kind. Even at 4-5x the high-potency dosages. Guess it doesn't work on me.
  2. That's a whopper of an ashtray! I keep my nubs and ashes in separate containers. I dump the nubs outside each time but the ashes container can fill up for quite awhile with essentially no odor.
  3. First two doses were Pfizer. Six months later, I took the Moderna booster. Nothing but a little local soreness for 2 or 3 days. I still wear a mask when out
  4. Would someone be so kind as to provide a link to the cartoon in question? All I see is an empty placeholder box. <<Doh, of course the link was right there. Forgive me as I had only had half my coffee at that point>>
  5. At least in the comfort of my own back deck. Anyone else packing up their main home-based/outdoor smoking lounge for the season?
  6. Yikes. Hope you feel better and recover well, Ken. Both of my parents had the shingles (I should get my inoculation soon) and my mother described it as second in misery only to kidney/gallstones.
  7. A man's got to know his limitations. Anything over $125, maybe $150 a bottle would be wasted on me.
  8. Fixed. Should take between 1-3 depending on his constitution.
  9. Fur felt fedora and Panama. I'm a big fan of Akubra hats. Particularly special is this customer made beaver fur by Bob Jessee at Black Sheep Hat Works.
  10. Don't feel too badly. I have extensive chemistry background and I had to google benzoin and tonka beans as well. I'm afraid that this product is too exotic for my pedestrian olfactory senses.
  11. It has been truly eye-opening for me to witness the discussion in this thread. It's one thing to read about the various rationales in support of or opposition to the individual choice or decision to vaccinate. It's another thing altogether to see it unfold in an actual person's words and line of reasoning. For sure, it's difficult trying to see common ground.
  12. Doesn't it entail more than just individual risk, though? Every infection is an opportunity for the virus to mutate into a strain that could evade current vaccines, spread even more easily, or increased virulence. With respect to Covid, individual risk assessment and tolerance overlap with considerations of the greater good. That is, the good of all.
  13. Here's a related question for travelers. United Airlines is the only major carrier at this point to mandate vaccinations for their employees. Neither Southwest, American, nor Delta are mandating, only strongly suggesting. If there are two carriers with flights into your destination, would you choose United because of their mandate even if the ticket were more expensive? Would you choose one of the other carriers because they don't mandate, if the United fare was cheaper?
  14. One bag or one container of crystals is sufficient at equilibrium because its only function will be to replace the moisture lost through the gaps and seals of the cooler. This assumes two key points: The cooler seals well and tightly The cigars in the cooler, whether one stick or packed solid with boxes, are already at the target RH of the humidification element This means that the following situations will impact the ability of the humidification element to maintain the RH inside the cooler: Loading one or more boxes that are significantly below or above the respon
  15. I don't know how to feel about this. As a concept, it has bits that are attractive. But it's also problematic in the sense that you're not relying on life experience and its richness to form the basis for your sensory associations and vocabulary, but rather pure, single molecule extracts (essentially). On the plus side, presumably, it could lead to highly efficient reviews. To wit..."cigar was a cracker. distinct notes of 12 with smatterings of 1, 5, and 8." Also, you'd know that if I said "vanilla" you could then go pull out vial #11 and know exactly what I was referring to.
  16. The BN is a lovely format. Elegant and upscale without being ostentatious, grotesque, or gaudy. It reeks of old world class and understated, mature character. I really miss it. There is not much more you could do to a cigar box to make it more premium without delving into the purely cosmetic. And the tone of the wood and the lacquer is warm and inviting. I'll be sad when this boy gives up his last Havana.
  17. Here are the sad remains of my 2001 boîte nature. Only 3 of the original box remain, the rest having been smoked or shared. Since I hate an empty cigar box, I've recruited the secure empty space as storage for a few notable singles. Enjoy the photos!
  18. Uh no. That would be unequivocally bad. If you want to force aging reactions (not including fermentation as finished cigars do not ferment), then heat and humidity are the factors you'll want to ramp up. But as far as I know, there is no analog to the wine aerators concept. It just works differently with a liquid.
  19. A cigar will give you what it's capable of delivering at that moment in time whenever you choose to smoke it. I have smoked right upon receipt if the cigar feels like it's in a smokeable condition. Meaning not spongy wet, primarily. Guess what, most times it's just fine. What you won't necessarily get is a sense for how a cigar from a box well-equilibrated to your storage conditions will behave. That's a different consideration entirely. I wonder if a mere shift of a few percentage of RH or a few degrees could actually account for converting a dog rocket into a charmer. I tend to th
  20. Would someone more knowledgeable explain to me how this view is or has been constructive in any way for any group? I mean aside from the angle on US domestic politics.
  21. I'm no mental health professional, but that guy has been clinically nuts for a long time. Paranoia, psychopathy, who knows what else. Money won't save you after all.
  22. I'm the only cigar smoker in the entire US operations as far as I can tell. It's a lonely feeling but at the same time prevents the opportunity for awkward work socialization.
