  1. I will have no problems with catching up. Would explain it to the wife. If she had issues with it i wouldnt go as a respect of her wishes. However i have trust in myself and my current relationship. So if it was reversed and the wife wanted to catch up with an old flame i would have no issues with it. Past relationships are just that. Past. However, they are also part of your history, part of what makes you you. Just because you catch up with someone doesnt mean that you will start a relationship with them again. If you do, then there are already issues in your current relationship.
  2. Personally i dont really see the point in boxing. If this happened in a pub carpark at 2am im pretty sure there would be no ticker tape parade or keys to the city given out. In regards to the debate around who should have won. It presents a strong case for bringing back a fight-to-the-death rule - at least there can be no disputing the outcome. Make it fight to the death. Triple the Pay-per-view fee. Would rake in the money!!
  3. I saw an inland taipan just outside of Blackwater. He was crossing the road. Saw him in plenty of time so I stopped the car as i didnt want to run him over. He turned around and started getting very cranky at the car. Really wanted to have a go! I always thought that they were fairly placid... but he was very cranky indeed. He hissed and carried on for a bit then continued off into the bush.
  4. If it is a true pinata.... if i smack it hard enough will lots of cigar goodies fall out???
  5. I think 'handle' is a relative term. It all comes down to what you want from it. it comes down to how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. I will give the example of wine. you may start at just knowing red wine and white white, you might then want to go to know the difference between a Cab sav and a Merlot, you may then want to go to knowing the difference between regions, you may then want to go to knowing the difference between years. That is a very broad generalisation but i guess my point is your handle on the topic is dependant on what you want from it. Bringing it back to cigars. Having a 'handle' on the general flavour profiles of cigars is very different to being able to pick 3 from 3 in the blind tasting for example. It comes down to what you are after, what you enjoy. The more detail and knowledge you are after of course means a longer timeframe to learn.
  6. I read the heading and assumed you were agreeing with Greg Norman...
  7. But you can roll it in glitter!!! By the way Mythbusters showed that you can actually polish a ****.
  8. I often go back to the words of Desiderata by Max Ehrmann Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.
  9. ****! That is terrible news to hear. I'm genuinely in shock!! Mark was an absolute gem of a man. I have had many a fine chat with him on the deck. He always met you with a firm handshake, warm smile and genuine interest how you were. He had great cigar knowledge, was always willing to offer a cigar and had many a great story to tell. Damn It!!
  10. I would say that a lot of babies are conceived when people are tanked!!
  11. I would be more worried about the arrow shaped bit of mold on the cigar!!!
  12. Ok lets have a punt.. I say there still needs to be a correction of around 3%... so I will go with 15195
  13. I had a feeling something like this might happen based solely on the Alex McKinnon comments about Cam Smith. I'm not going to go into the rights or wrongs of that...BUT what can happen in these instances, and seems to have happened here, is that the team will galvanise around the captain. I'm not sure how much of an impact it had on the result... however I am sure it did have some role to play in it.
  14. Great review of one of my favourites. Love the SLR Pacificos.. absolute lashings of peaches and cream!!!
  15. If you drank the lot in one go... it would be more than enough for one lifetime.
  16. You can beat an egg... but you sure cant beetroot!!!
  17. It was fairly mild at our place. Only marble sized hail. No damage. Here is a good video of what the storm was like in the city!
