What fun would it be without vintages to worry about in addition to rolling, storage, and provenance? I just like them when they are ‘on’ and appreciate that brands stick with regional tobacco and processing to stay true to their nature. The rest is up to the angels! coffee - how anal are you?
ajgagnon replied to Ken Gargett's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
I don’t think I’m anal about coffee, but my daily routine starts with walking downstairs in the dark and switching on my Elektra Microcasa a Leva, preferably without speaking or being spoken to, and making a good old espresso from beans roasted locally by an old Polish craftsman. Funny thing is that it doesn’t taste anything like the espresso they make from the same beans in their shop... my machine seems to have lower temp and pressure and I love what comes out. I’m not a chaser of God Shots, but like cigars, I sure love the magic moments that I get to experience. Sent from my iPhone us -

I’m partial to wines like that but I have to say it’s got to be a bit of a tough pairing. Lots of jam and tannin could be part of the youth you were experiencing. Just a thought. In the end, I’m a firm believer that you smoke and drink what you want! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Robaina farm cigars
ajgagnon replied to Vetteman's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
Yeah, it was something like 50+ cigars. We made sure to help him out. The only thing was that some of them seem to have been rolled shortly after he or his wife put on the perfume. Clearly the home blend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Robaina farm cigars

The farmers often smoke some rustic cigars. I once had a groundskeeper give me a bale of cigars that were half long and half short filler. He said just smoke half! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Try the Ron Allones Specially Selected or Partagas 898. Or, milder, a Punch Punch. Or a Por Larranaga Petit Corona (bold). As said above, The Partagas P2 is also amazing. So many great choices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Top 3 mildest CC's to offer a newbie?
ajgagnon replied to stogieluver's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
Those little Punch half coronas are amazing. Maybe not the mildest, but awesome and small. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Wow, that came out of nowhere

PL seems to punch above its weight. Takes days for the aftertaste to fade, but probably my favourite cc brand. -

Should one be fined for not voting?
ajgagnon replied to El Presidente's topic in Cigars Discussion Forum "the water hole"
I think it's great to have the right to soil a ballot, and if that's what someone wants to do, that's great. However, if anyone doesn't show up to vote, I think they should have their tongue stapled until the next election (no offense, Pres). In fact, I feel better about it because it shows up in the stats as a F-U. On the flip side, I think there should be some screen for voters, whether based on education or something. How can a vote based on unfounded opinion be worth the same as one that's rooted in reality?
