  1. Babcock's going to Toronto? Hmm. I knew he wanted a challenge, but I didn't think he was a masochist. It certainly tells you he was more interested in the big payout than he was actually winning a Cup... sorta tells you where his mind was, I suppose. Tired of trying to get another Cup, just wants to sit back and coach a team who's got more money than sense, watch the fat paychecks roll in, then retire in 8 years and live somewhere super nice. I suppose it's a good gig if you can get it. Bring on the Blashill Era in Motown! Go Wings!

  3. Daytime hockey is fine, as long as it's a Saturday. Gives you an excuse to start drinking at noon on a Saturday. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  4. I was hoping the Caps would win just so the Frozen On Ice shows in Tampa on Saturday would get cancelled, but I do also like the Rangers. It was a great game 7 and I'm just glad it wasn't a cheap goal or a zebra who made the difference. This is why I love playoff hockey, even when my boys have already been bounced. 5. C'mon. Ovechkin was asked what they're going to do. He said they were going to win game 7. What would you expect a player - and a captain at that - to say? Should he have said he was hoping they weren't going to lose? That's dumb. It's not like he guaranteed a win before the series started. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  6. I suspect that the Rangers/Caps game 7 will be more exciting that the Cup final itself.
  7. Whether I think Detroit was or wasn't a Cup winning team this year is pretty moot at this point. And I'm not throwing Babcock from the train simply because Detroit hasn't won a Cup in 8 years or even been to the finals in 7 years. I'm throwing him from the train because he's been completely incapable of getting this team out of the 1st or 2nd rounds for 6 consecutive seasons. In 3 of those 6 seasons the round was over in 5 games. In 1 of those 6 seasons the Wings were up 3-1 before Chicago came back and won the series. So it's not even the fact that they're not getting out of the 2nd round
  8. I think he shut out the Wild. LOL Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  9. Yeah... that was crazy. Questionable hit or not, they still should have kept playing until the whistle and *then* went after Backstrom. Game 2 will be interesting. I hope Boyle lines up Backstrom real nice and good like. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  10. LOL. Well... Torts is at least entertaining. Sometimes about as entertaining as a train wreck, but he certainly gives people something to talk about. Haha! But, naw. Detroit doesn't want Torts. Ever. LOL Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  11. Detroit always drafts well - that's not been the issue in many years. The FA issue this past off-season was sad... nobody wanted to come to Detroit since they thought Detroit wasn't even going to make the post season this year. (Babcock alone wasn't enough of a reason to get people to sign.) Maybe some FAs will change their mind this time around? They've got some great kids in the hopper and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do. Mrazek, Marchenko, and Ferraro will continue to be awesome, and the likes of Mantha, Pulkkinen, Oullet, and Lashoff will make great regular additions to th
  12. There's a lot of Babcock love on this thread. But I think a lot of it is hyped by the hockey writers in general... and everyone knows the hockey world largely revolves around Toronto. Babcock has been a professional coach since 2002. Look at the results: International: 2004 World Championships - Team Canada, Gold medal 2010 Winter Olympics - Team Canada, Gold medal 20104 Winter Olympics - Team Canada, Gold medal Pretty awesome so far. Looks like Babcock can coach the crap out of an All-Star roster. Now on the NHL: 2002-2003: with Anaheim, lost Stanley Cup in 7 games to NJ 2003-200
  13. Did you see how emotional Babcock was in that post game presser? He's not been that emotional in all of his 10 seasons with Detroit. That is a man who is not coming back. Thank the gods!!!!! Bring on Blashill! Detroit needs a coach who can work with these kids. I am *totally* amped for the next season already. The post-Babcock era is upon us! WOOT!!!! 14. Lame. But Detroit played a good game 7, especially considering they were down their best two D men. Despite Babcock's leadership this season, the Wings gave a good fight. Mrazek is a total stud. The Wings will be better next season for sure (bring up Mantha!). New coach next season will be a godsend for Detroit. I'm now compelled to root for NYR because I want to root for the Original Six, but I loathe Montreal. I still love the Wings! Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  15. Err... it's been flying since February. Forgot it was a later SB this year. But the point being the Wings flag was flying when it was still -40 outside. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  16. It's been flying since January. Had the 12th Man flag flying during the Seahawks season. Let's hope the Wings have a better fate than Seattle. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk

  20. I was just giving you grief. No worries at all. I just love talking hockey with other FoHs. Cheers, Greg Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk
  21. Helluva response by Detroit. 4-0 shutout? A second shutout by Mrazek? Most epic! Let's hope the Wings finish these Tampa mofos on Monday. #Mrazekisastud Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk

  23. I think the Red Wings standard is a bit higher than than the Leafs'. No offense... just sayin'. LOL
  24. What was I thinking #1. The night I hung out with Megan Fox and failed to get her phone number. D'Oh! What was I thinking #2: The time I went up with the Blue Angels, right after a large spaghetti lunch. Oops! What was I thinking #3: The time I decided to leave the band because I didn't think we were going anyhow. UGH! Ah, well... live and learn, I guess. Right? Cheers, ~ Greg ~
