  1. On Saturday the local Grand Forks, North Dakota, HOG chapter held its annual benefit ride to help the local Circle of Friends Humane Society. The event raised nearly $4000 for the shelter and there were 91 bikes involved, mostly Harleys, of course, but a few Goldwings… and one Ural. The Ural isn’t exactly the speediest of machines and with the North Dakota wind in our face the whole way we were lucky to hit 60mph. So, we brought up the end, though one of the event organizers and a couple of friends were more than happy to ride with us. So, we sorta had a Harley escort. I mounted the ol’ HERO2 to the sidecar and we got a some neat video of the first leg of the ride (about 40 miles). We weren’t able to continue on for the rest of the ride (round trip was ~180 miles), but even just the first stint was good times. Here’s the link to the video. Full HD, so crank it up and enjoy the sights and the tunage. The local HOG folks are a good bunch of people. We’re already planning to go on next year’s benefit ride. ~ Greg ~
