  1. Greetings again dear friends! Below are a number of video reviews of cigars which I've termed 'uncommon' due to their discontinuation (or hiatus), premium exclusivity or simply for the fact that as cigar enthusiasts we're more unlikely to reach for them from our humidors! Again, like the 2017 Xmas Sampler Series, I'd like to say that speaking 'on-the-fly' about cigars is certainly a challenge and I will need to acknowledge errors throughout this series (so bare with me). Also, please feel free to share your thoughts on these cigars in this thread. If you have views or opinions contrary to what has been stated, please feel welcome to express your thoughts and say so, after all, my own views here is intended to serve as a guide.
  2. I would really like to buy a Behike 54 to age for like 5 years and smoke on a very special occasion (Marriage, first home bought). Where can I find one at a decent price? I appreciate any feedback, thanks.
  3. I’m smoking this Behike 52 which I bought about 2 years ago and getting tons of cinnamon flavors off of it. Was wondering if yall could recommend some other cigars that are big on the cinnamon. Really like this flavor.
  4. Was hanging out at Toronto LCDH yesterday while the wife did some window shopping. Enjoyed a nice Cuban espresso, some conversation and took a quick look inside the humidor. Found some really nice large format jars. All official Habanos sa. The Behike, Partagas and Cohiba jars look big enough to hold Double Coronas with room to spare! The RyJ Short Churchill and Monte Edmundos are regular sized. The Partagas one is a beauty! Basically the P1 jar on steroids. Future Hamlet Salamones home? Slick, black Behike jar. Another biggie. I guess Habanos got tired of all those counterfeits on Ebay? Pricing was > $230CAD on the big jars.
  5. In preparation for my video review of the Cohiba Lanceros for the 2017 Xmas Sampler Series, I researched pigtail caps on Cuban Cigars. I was unable to find a definitive reference on-line as to why or which cigars have a pigtail cap, but looking at the list below it's safe to infer some reasons... The following Habanos cigars have (or had prior to discontinuation) pigtail caps: Cohiba Lanceros Cohiba Coronas Especiales Montecristo Especial Montecristo Especiales No.2 ALL Trinidad vitolas including the Fundadores and special releases such as the 2016 Topes Limited Edition and the recent 2017 LCDH La Trova Davidoff No.1 and No.2 Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de Dauphin and Odeon Vegueros Especiales No.1 and Especiales No.2 2011 Cohiba 1966 LE 2017 Cohiba Talisman Cohiba Behike 52, 54 and 56 The main thing I can glean from the original size and purpose of the Cohiba Lanceros and Cohiba Coronas Especiales is the fact that they are both long and skinny 38 ring gauge cigars and were initially handed out as diplomatic and VIP gifts. Consequently, most of the cigars listed above are (or were) 38 ring gauge cigars. Trinidad as a marca was also a diplomatic cigar prior to being introduced publically in 1998. Trinidad was marketed as a premium marca and all vitolas have had pigtails. The Cohiba Behike 52, 54 and 56, introduced in 2010 as regular production cigars had pigtails and recently the Cohiba Limted Editions, the 1966 and Talisman have been released with pigtails. I wonder if they've been constructed so to assist with clipping the cap without the use of a cutter. I had fun untwisting the pigtail cap on my 2017 Xmas Sampler Cohiba Lanceros today. If you'd like to see how it was done, follow the link below...
  6. Walked into my local store today after a big big lunch and what do I find? Talisman and Behike in stock and ready to go. Must be early Christmas season. Probably gonna pop a box of talisman right away and keep a box on the side for a year or so so see how it ages. Picked up a box of medio siglos for the winter season as well.
  7. Hi Guys, I recently bought a Behike 54 and a Behike 56 whilst on Holiday in Brisbane in January. As excited I was to buy these I had second thoughts after leaving the vendor. I was surprised that they had so many boxes of Behikes which seems quite odd considering a lot of the major/reputable shops in Australia that I know of - don't have or are having a lot of trouble sourcing due to the bad crops experienced in Cuba recently. Maybe I am just crazy and loosing my mind but I thought I'd show you some pics to see what you guys think. These Behikes both were manufactured in 2016. Points/Observations: - The Behike 54 looks like it wasn't cut 100% straight and as you can see in the pictures; it is on a bit of an angle. - The Behike 56 sports the old Cohiba Hologram (not the new "chequered" hologram) which is pretty odd noting this cigar is from 2016... (I believe the old hologram was discontinued in 2014?) - The Behike 54 has the new hologram but the words "Cohiba" and "Behike" are difficult to see. I compared this to my genuine BHK 52s (I bought a box recently) and the words look much clearer. Sorry for the huge photo dump. I hope the pictures come out ok. Any thoughts and insights is much apprecaited! Luca P.S - Please note that the picture of the foots of the cigars - The BHK 54 is on the left and the BHK 56 is on the right.
  8. I have a friend interested in buying five Behike 52s. What are the odds of finding five of these bad boys?

  10. When the BHK line came out in 2010 the cigar world was abuzz. Many tout the original 2010 release Behike's as being the best release. For those of you smoke BHK's frequently, a few questions. As far as 2010 BHK's go. Are they well revered across the board or are they relegated to one or more of the vitolas? I keep reading on how the BHK52's were considered the best. In comparison to the 2010 release. How do you think the 2011 and 2012 BHK's compare? Please take some time to answer the poll questions as well.
  11. Oh yeah! I've seen some nice BHK boxes but this one takes the cake! PSP * 100 for sure! Top of box Open Lid Close up Wow. Just fantastic!! original link
