  1. This is a question mainly for those living near czar central. I know people have asked about finding spanish cedar around oz before but does anyone know a source of spanish cedar around the Brisbane (Australia) region? Ive confirmed that a NSW mob have it http://www.boutiquetimbers.com/ but i am wondering if there is any closer to home that doesnt need posting. thanks
  2. FoH, I've ordered my new 238 liter thermo electric humidor today and I am very excited. The Humidor includes Beech wood trays but Cedar is an option. The Spanish cedar is about 50 dollars a tray more than the beech wood.. any opinions or words of wisdom? Kurt
  3. Hi, I thought I would give the wienador a crack. Live in Sydney Australia and unfortunately in my house my desk humidor could not keep the temp at a suitable level. I'm sure I have a fair bit to go but so far I've built the drawers and shelves and I will keep tinkering to see how to improve it. Still waiting for the heartfelt beads but unfortunately Australia post decided to misplace my package...so they are missing.
  4. Gday, I am looking to source some cedar to put inside a home made humidor. As I am in Australia some timbers are harder then other to source. What cedars are safe to use?? Thanks for the help!!!
  5. I've always lived by this philosophy: "Nothing better than an aged tubed Romeo y Julieta Churchill" I've got loads of those giant red and white tubes lying all over the place now. Along with Siglo IIIs, Siglo IIs, etc. Basically any vit. you can think of, i probably have 3-10 of those tubes. Obviously, they were the left over pillaged containers of the arson victims that once were inside. But these extra metal casings often costs a pretty penny. So i've always wondered if you could just tube normal cigars and have them make the same slow-ageing, cedary, tad smoother, effect? I know boxpressed RyJs might be a tad difficult to shove in there at first, but would it be worth it in the end? Things like Bolivar Royal Coronas (that i can't stand) would actually be significantly better if i could just pop them in the RC Tubes and have them soak in that cedar without paying the extra 10% for the tubes that are just resealable, pretty Coke Cans. Has anyone done this with success? Does anyone practice this? Furthermore, would it be alright to age a Royal Corona in a Short Churchill tube? Or a Bolivar Petit Corona in a Siglo II tube?
