  1. Furthering the discussion of RE/LE comparisons to value/enjoyment compared to regular/discontinued in a recent thread, we would like some input from the members as to which they feel were/are a lead runner for the specific marcas and those that were better off staying at the blocks... No right answers just opinion. We would ask that opinion posts be limited to those that have smoked at least 3 of the offending cigars to have insight beyond a single smoke or evaluation just upon size. We’ve not made this a poll on purpose; want descriptions and opinions on where to put money on this marca at 2021. In a sense, would like to throw down on what the members who’ve tried these feel you should target today. Feel free to quote the post and expound on your experience with the specific cigar. Current reg (hen’s teeth) production: Medaille d’Or No.4 ***not really in the discussion for current production until actual supply teases out... 2. Swung by the local B&M today and picked up a single Monte 520 then went home and went on a nice run. I figured I should reward myself for running so I took this guy to flame. Some thoughts: * This is a big cigar. At a 55rg it is a bit too big for my liking * Can't deny that the cigar is visually awesome! A smooth dark brown wrapper that just begs to be smoked * I knew this cigar was probably a bit over humidified for my tastes, but I lit it anyway * First third, OMG what a great cigar. Cream and chocolate flavors everywhere. If it keeps up this will be a classic right now * Second third, yep it is too wet and has lost a lot of flavors and is getting harsh * Have to relight numerous times * Final third, still harsh and still requires relighting. I blame the humidity Overall thoughts: * First third was fantastic and if the rest of it improves with lower humidity than this cigar will be a winner * The RG is just too big and is uncomfortable * I will definitely pick up more and let them rest a bit
  3. Haven't seen a thread on this so thought I'd throw it out there. I'm a big fan of the Hoyo de Monterey marque having enjoyed multiple Epi 2s, 1s, Dieux and even the diminutive Depute. However, after multiple sticks from 2 different boxes, the Hoyo Regalos 2007 baffles me for its dull, bland and bitter character. It seems they simply got the blend wrong. Or have I been unlucky!? Anyway that's my vote for the worst LE ever. Any other nominations?
