  1. Hi friends, I’m back for another thread, to track the build process of my next humidor. Some of you might have followed one of my first projects here: The Wheezydor. I assumed that I’d “pace myself” on 24:24, etc. but that didn’t work out very well. As you can see, I built a total of 4 desktop humidors, plus the Wheezydor, but all are 100% capacity. Zero airflow as well. Soooo...I’m embarking on the Wheezycab, a larger standalone cabinet to load balance the current humis, and to also reclaim desktop space in my home office. I’ll be updating this thread over the coming weeks. If you like this stuff, I hope you enjoy the process. First, a pic of the current state of affairs...
  2. Hi friends, So after completing my first 2 humidors (see: “Humidors and cigar boxes” thread), I’ve realized that while I like how those humidors turned out, they didn’t solve my main issue: I need a larger space to store boxes of cigars while they age. @BarryNY yes you were right! Furthermore, I don’t have convenient counter space to leave the humidors for months, let alone years, at a stretch. Sitting in my home office, I think I have come up with a solution: the Wheezydor, for lack of a better name. I’m going to retrofit a couple of bookcase shelves into humidors (initial photos below), giving me about 48” x 16”x 12” of space. Hopefully this will cover me for a while! If you’re interested in this stuff, circle back periodically, as I will update the thread with my progress. The original bookshelves (which I never use anymore). Hello, it’s 2004 calling...they want their DVD’s back!
  3. So I have a few projects left on my honey-do list but I am in the planning/early development stage and I am looking for any and all input ya'all may have. Total free-thought time. I haven't chosen a size yet. It will be insulated. I priced out VIP insulation...not cost effective at all. Most likely Rigid Foam board. Design will be pretty damn similar to the one I saw here that had rosewood veneer and mahogany. You know, the one we all drool over. It's simple, clean and more modern. Still thinking that an armoire conversion might be the way to go. I would love to do a PigFish fully automated system. I will stick with veneer for the most part except for door trim and other areas. Solid wood is just too pricey unless I get a band saw ans re-saw my own lumber. Baltic Birch plywood (3/4-1/2") with 3/4" Spanish cedar lining. No glass doors. All wood. Looking forward to hearing your input!
