A few recent acquisitions 1980s bottlings of Glenfiddich 15 and 18. 1980s bottling of Macallan 12 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My summer planned trip to Cuba was scuppered so I did the next best thing... a whisky buying trip/tour of Scotland! Had a great week with a mix of rain and glorious sunshine. Some great pick ups too -

Blanton's gold US release

Picked this up while on vacation, been trying to find one in DFW and they sell super fast. 2 behind the locked cabinet last night, so I snagged 1, and left 1 for someone else, unless it's there next week, then I will grab the other one.

How is it? I've seen it everywhere today while hunting, but I'm keeping my hunting to bourbon at the moment. The one exception is the grocery store down the road that has lagavulin 16 year on sale for 69.99. Here's a sneak peak of a small piece of my haul. d70a02abe011962fd8e7bd83e16e80e5.jpg

Nice! It was interesting. I like it. I picked up the smoke and toffee right away. An odd combo, I'll just say they made it work, and if the other bottle is there after Christmas I will be getting it.

I found some too! In Virginia/north Carolina those are lottery bottles and almost impossible to get. I found 2 but only bought one because I already have one and I spent way too much on bourbon and scotch recently.f359b15d6e00066d55e6cb459fbc79c4.jpg

No clue. I paid 96 out the door, and the other four I found are 96 before tax.

Well here is the fruit of my labor the past few months. Lots of Christmas, birthday, and lottery bottles this year...913f511fde75fe968b1bab580464fca0.jpgf713d0b4ee8f6138d3f5080deb6122e9.jpg80cde347aef2c865ef62e92d2509942f.jpg9591c2b7249a39eb606c80bd77ade818.jpg

I want to make an attempt to become more knowledgeable about wine (right now I am a complete novice). Today, I picked up three bottles of 2014 La Famille Des Marais upon a recommendation from a friend. The story behind this wine is that it was produced as a side project by Owen Roe. My friend suggested that it should go in the decanter for three hours prior to drinking.

Wines from that region are generally good for both Cab and Pinot Noir.  Haven't had that particular wine.

My haul from my recent trip back to Australia. The Hibiki was a gift from a good friend, the Blantons and the Lagavulin via Christmas Dan Murphy gift cards and the Bunnahabain was a rushed duty free purchase.da7ef1ddcecc2322418c8b7fa3f1e1f4.jpg
