My summer planned trip to Cuba was scuppered so I did the next best thing... a whisky buying trip/tour of Scotland! Had a great week with a mix of rain and glorious sunshine. Some great pick ups too -

Excited for this one .. these have been garnering a good reputation recently

Let us know how the 15 year is. I had several opportunities but it seems over priced for the proof. I have a barrel pick single barrel thats 120 proof and 15 years. Cost $50 and I should have bought a case!

Will do. Usually at this price I head straight to Bookers but have heard good things from friends I trust. Wish this was a barrel strength release but I understand the logic in cutting it to 100 and having more bottles to sell. Finding real value in bourbon these days is getting harder and harder. I remember college days when we could buy Elmer Lee, Weller, McKenna 10, Sazerac 6, all off the shelf and all around $20 a bottle. Scotch is starting to look more and more reasonable..,

I picked up Flor de Cana 25 Year Old Rum, the last item on my shopping list for 2020, and the only non whiskey as a farewell to 2020 (full list in separate thread). Opened this bottle and this is an excellent rum, and I'm not a rum fanatic.

I have some half bottles of the 2010 which is an outstanding vintage for this wine. Nice to get some full size bottles of that vintage even though I had to buy them in the fancy box. Also nice to pick up some 2015’s to go with the 2006 and 2013 I already have.

I never had that one; the first vintage I bought of their one was the 2006. Really enjoy this wine from the vintages I’ve bought.

One day I hope to express my opinion about wine like I express myself about my wife!!!!

Maybe I should give up whiskey for a year and focus on wine...

i'd take the view that they are not mutually exclusive.

It’s a great bourbon and can easily go toe-to-toe with bourbons twice the cost
