A few recent acquisitions 1980s bottlings of Glenfiddich 15 and 18. 1980s bottling of Macallan 12 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My summer planned trip to Cuba was scuppered so I did the next best thing... a whisky buying trip/tour of Scotland! Had a great week with a mix of rain and glorious sunshine. Some great pick ups too -

Blanton's gold US release

My last whisky purchase was a bottle of Compas Box Hedonism. The grain alcohol makes for an interesting drink.

KL Wines loves me...

Liquor cabinet is so full that I have to start storing bottles in the basement next to my coolidors :o

The 1971 wine is hopefully better than my bottle of 1971 BV that I cracked for my birthday and that was way over the hill (like me, some would say :lookaround: )

One day early indeed!

You guys in the USA are so lucky to have access to these bottles. All we get up here is the regular stuff. Not that its bad at all, but it gets kind of boring.

I ordered 3 - more for investment rather than drinking, given how absolutely ridiculous the Ardbeg market is.

A scotch way older than I am:

I think I'll store this away until I reach the same age.

Some others more in the same age group as me:

One for the collection:

Apparently this represents the remaining few stocks of sherry matured Macallan 18 YO-ish that was distilled from malted Golden Promise barley, like the Macallans of old.

Nice pickups, brother :2thumbs:

I just got a good old bottle of Laphroaig 10 today - not worth posting a picture.

Nice pickup on the 2013 Ardbogs. You guys are lucky in the US. ;)

We in AUS pay upwards of 65% more for a bottle of this but get 50ml less. :(

BTW, happy belated Ardbeg Day!

I just picked up a few bottles this week. Nothing really fancy because as Shlomo said, we don't have much in terms of choices unless you're willing to send ridicules amounts of money. Taxes here in Québec are probably on par with those in Australia. And that goes for wine and cigars as well.

Since I was at Costco anyway, picked up a bottle of Laphroaig 10. No picture required, I think. They had Laga 16 and Oban 14 on special offer but I'm well stocked on those already ;)

I was interested in that one also as it is one of the few Campbeltown whiskies available. I'm not much of a connoisseur but I wanted to try something different than the usual Highland whiskies I usually buy. Will let you how it tastes !

Claus, are you, being in the U.S., able to order these through the ardbeg committee or a local retailer? Cheers mate.

A couple more old and sherried ones: Glenrothes 1969 40 Years Old bottled at cask strength by independent bottlers, Duncan Taylor for their Octave & Quarter Cask range - 72 bottles only produced from cask no. 492119.

I have gone away from the peat and back to sherry matureds. ;)

I ordered one recently from the only Canadian source I know of. Would have gotten another one but I'm tight for cash, and I'm not one for too much Whisky speculating..........although I did jump in for two Ardbeg Galileo's last year!

I love my Ardbeg's, but I love it too much to not open them - most of mine are at least opened, if not well enjoyed already......

I did try some of my buddy's Ardbeg Supernova 2010 over the weekend - I need to open my bottle soon!!!

One bottle of this (discontinued and the only JW without grain alcohol in the blend).

...and a case of this, since the local Costco just started carrying it and its a steal at $16+tax!
