Surely most of these are for his collection to be aged. @sengjc is probably catching up on his wine collection!

That is exactly right.

I am catching up on a choice selection from the recent good run of vintages for the future - cycling the mature stuff and topping up with new stuff, updating the cellar as the palate evolves.

I am pretty much there already, just a bit more and I am done for the next few years until the next run of good vintages.

I'm a beer snob.... a big hophead... so I was overjoyed to get my shipment of Heady Topper/Focal Banger, and a few other NE IPA's over the weekend.   Had the Focal and Heady with a Monte no. 2 on Tuesday night!    Good beers.  I love the dankness.

Finally added a bottle of ardbeg and a btac release to my collection. Been wanting to sample both for a long time.

3 bottles for my wife.  50% off so I had to get some since she enjoys these.  I don't know if they are any good but she likes and as they say "happy wife...happy life"

Edit:  She bought the 50% sticker on some of my purchases here so I think we are even.......until the next purchase:whistle:

While away for the weekend I picked up a couple of malts unavailable in OH/KY:

image.jpeg

The Talisker is available in OH/KY, but it was on sale for $57, so I had to restock. So far, I've only sampled the Tomatin, and I'm very impressed! It was just $50 and has replaced the Quinta Ruben as my new favorite port finished malt. I'm no expert taster, but I find the Tomatin to be a light fruity flavor with cinnamon and a bit of woody (cedar'ish?) flavor, but still has a nice bit of burn (for me, the burn is perfect to offset the sweetness).
