Noon whistle “edible gummy” aroma is hoppy skunk almost like g13.  Light & refreshing mostly a citrus lemon ? hoppy profile. Canned 4/17/19; can says drink by 7/17/18.. not bad not great. I feel honestly the aroma and smell are the the best part.

Interesting, never found that one hot, but what you consider hot and I consider hot are probably 2 different things. I will have to re-sample..... FOR SCIENCE!

Loved this Malt. The triple wood takes a bit of the normal peat down from an 11 to about a 7 and adds some more dimensionality for me. Great neat despite the expected heat at 48%. Excellent

Went to Jackalope restaurant on the weekend and had the degustation menu which was fantastic. 2015 was a very good year in the Mornington Peninsula and this chardonnay was superb. I can recommend any visitors to Melbourne perhaps add a night in the hotel, enjoy the restaurant and of course, the wine.

Basil Hayden’s bottles rye whiskey and rum blend

5th June, 2019 by Melita Kiely

Bourbon brand Basil Hayden’s has created a rye whiskey and rum blend, called Basil Hayden’s Caribbean Reserve Rye.

Basil Hayden’s Caribbean Rye Reserve is bottled at 40% abv

Basil Hayden’s Caribbean Reserve Rye is a blend of eight-year-old Kentucky straight rye whiskey and four-year-old Canadian rye whisky.

Black Strap Rum is then added to the blend, which is said to give notes of brown sugar and molasses to the final product.

Bottled at 40% abv, the expression is available throughout the US for a limited period, priced at RRP US$44.99 per 750ml.

Rob Mason, vice president marketing, whiskey, at Beam Suntory, said: “With the release of Caribbean Reserve Rye we wanted to give our fans a fun whiskey expression that you can bring out and share during warmer weather occasions, whether that’s mixing it up at an outdoor barbecue or gifting it for a housewarming celebration.

“As a brand that has always broken traditional whiskey expectations, we’re excited to help our fans discover new, interesting ways to enjoy the rye category and Caribbean Reserve Rye does just that.”

The liquor store I got it, said it literally showed up with deliveries on Saturday. He put it on the shelf and people were limited to 1 per person. Going to try and go back this morning and see if I can snag 1 more. It is pretty tasty. Some vanilla, spice, a bit of oak, and on the finish, all rum, totally get the brown sugar and molasses like sweetness.

The shop that I work with just got this in, I had to try some. This was really good, unlike the regular rye which I can only drink one dram of, because it's so sweet. This had the sweetness, but it didn't overpower me. I could drink 2-3 drams in one setting of this. Don't be afraid of the Bourbon/Canadian Rye.......it's really nicely balanced imo. Thanks for posting the info on this fine spirit Ken.

Pine in a NEIPA? Blasphemy. That's just a west coast ipa with clouds... seriously looks like a good one though. As a homebrewer I been trying to perfect this style without making a starch bomb. It's a difficult craft.
