Fuzz
I still remember my grandmother telling me stories of how she used to buy abalone by the bucket (20c each abalone) back in the 60's/70's because no-one knew what the heck they were.
canadianbeaver
My dad has a lot of contacts in Chinese community north of Toronto. They often have lavish dinners at very high end Chinese restaurants with course after course. The women are decked out in furs and jewels like you would not believe! Although the menu is planned, ( mind you this was several years ago), you could order a plate of abalone prepared for you for hundreds of dollars. We certainly never did - too rich for our pockets. It may have even been illegal? It was fascinating!

At this size more than ample..Really is good fun and soooo nice to eat.

Yeah, The Abalone you might find in Canadian waters is definitely illegal - overfishing off the west coast has brought it close to extinction. It's illegal to fish in Canadian Waters, as well as to sell in Canadian restaurants......
westg
Did you get that monster fish while spearfishing? Yes .. this is about an average size for blue garoupa..there was larger ones down at the bottom. Generally try and go for something mid range.
