maxcjs0101
Good read. But i wonder where money from Habanos S.A goes to? The government? Are the workers, torcedores in factories paid the same amount like they do in the article?

rshacklefordiv
I just got back from Cuba. Like the author, I've only been the one time, but unlike the author, I don't think I know enough to have a strong opinion. One thing the author seemed to leave out though is how much Cuba is currently in transition. Privately run businesses are common and seem to go growing in number rapidly. This was not the case a few years ago. It seemed to me that communism was really just an antiquated symbolic policy, and that gradual capitalism paired with strong social support and concern is what the people want, what is currently being put into place, and what will eventually be official. From a tourist's standpoint, I think the opportunity to visit old Cuba is running out, but for Cubans, the future looks bright. How long it takes to get better is anyone's guess. Thanks for the good read!
